Can you suggest another headset for 50ish bucks?
Gaming headset? No.
IEMs/earbuds/headphones with a built-in lav, or combo options? 100%
But if you want a boom mic headset, spend the extra and get the Cooler Master MH751 ($70-$85 during November sales) or the Takstar GM200 (~$75 during 11.11 sale after discounts/cashbacks). Then just replace the pads every 2 years.
But ultimately get proper headphones ($80-$600), IEMs ($50-$500), maybe an earbud ($70). Unlike chaining through crappy gear, you just replace pads/tips/foams every 2-3 years and you tend to get re-sale value.
True that, iem or good open back, kz 10 pro ftw
Ps the only gaming headset that recommend is hyperx cloud 2 its the only gaming headset as far as i know has neutral profile@hunterhalo: No KZ, ever.
Cheap IEMs (sub-$100)
- BLON BL-03 with new cable (3.5mm NX7 type) and $1 tips
- Final Audio E3000 if you're happy to get an amp in the future
- Tin T2 Plus (not Pro)
- Moondrop Aria
Cheap open backs (sub-$40)
- Koss KSC75
- Koss KPH30i if you're more casual/music focused
Cheap earbuds (sub-$80)
- NiceHCK DIY MX500 2021
- KS Earphone LBBs (not LBB)
Yeah unfortunately even if it isn't broken, my son will want a new one within 12 months, not prepared to pay over 100 bucks or he can save for it himself.
@Herb Utsmellz: They're not all made out of dinky plastic, but I'm in the thought process of what's good for someone 10-12 and over.
If they're going to be savage on the gear like that, just throw them the buds that comes with your phones and tablets, and just make sure they're not making themselves deaf with the volume level.
I think the Koss KPH30i at $40 would probably meet the needs you're describing though, just teach them to be gentle when unplugging it and throwing it off.
Hey jasswolf, do you know where to find MH752 earpad replacements or any compatible ones? Can't seem to find any. Although my MH751 earcups are still decent, it will be nice to know what options are out there :D
@Justahappymortal: Cooler Master sell them, and I think Takstar (the original manufacturer of the drivers) use exactly the same earpads and attachment for the Pro 82.
So you can find them on AliE and from Cooler Master direct, the trick is that they're glued and there's a ring, so you need to be very careful as you do replace them.
Here's a guide for the Pro 82: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/takstar-pro-82-gm200-review-…
Ahh, it's a gaming camera.
'Razer Kiyo is an online gaming camera designed for streamers'
I find this sort of thing very confusing. How many actual streamers or aspiring streamers are there? Enough to necessitate a whole series of products?
It's marketing hype - what exactly is a webcam "designed for streamers", the requirements for streaming are exactly the same as the requirements for any other uses of a webcam, i.e. good video quality (for the price).
Twitch average monthly unique broadcasters is currently sitting at 8.68M. That's a lot of people streaming.
Add to that all the wannabe streamers who buy up all the gear and hardly ever use it and you've got enough for a market.
Isn’t this expired deal?
Code has expired and been replaced by an 8% off code W1SD8 so prices are slightly higher than this.
Still 11% if you register
Oh and I have had a Kiyo for a couple of years and although I only use it for Teams calls, people constantly comment on how good the feed looks… Don't be put off by the haters who haven't used one before.
Btw, do you use the built-in microphone of this webcam? What do you think of it?
I use a separate Jabra speakerphone so I actually have no idea if the mic is any good, sorry!
All a bit meh really. Kiyo Pro is twice this, but well worth the jump.
