Good value because it doesn't include any of the useless pieces that the kids sometimes do, eg no torch, radio, fan etc.

    • +14

The torch is probably the most used of all the tools

      • Not the radio?

          • @hippyhippy: I went into a council building site last night (wasn't really meant to be in there) and one of the tradies had left an Ozito drill in there overnight. I couldn't believe it.

            • +14

@pdtmathieson: thats probably why hes buying ozito cause he keeps loosing his cheap drills.

            • @pdtmathieson: Yeah that's cos its Ozito, even you didn't bother to take it lol

          • @hippyhippy: Not true. I have seen some tradies using it and as you can expect I was surprised.

          • @hippyhippy: Most tradies use i know use Makita or Milwaukee and sometimes Dewalt

            • @sammyla: @sammyla yeah but the same tradies are going around with expensive kitted out 4WDs so I guess they are not regulars on OzB 😅

I just need a deal on the impact driver. Come on Bunnings.

    • +26

You should say come on Aldi!
Then Bunnings will price macth 😅

      • Is Aldi a franchise? I will do the promotion and wait for bunnings to match and stock none of them as usual.

    • +1

We can dream of them doing this again, it was awesome. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/578812

      • Didnt need a 2nd but bought on sight. Their drills are a bit rubbish but the driver i have in use is excellent, has copped alot of punishment

      • Yep bought one myself it’s been great for around the house

      • +1

Missed this last time. Waiting for this badly. :-(

      • Yes it was

FYI, Banggood have 18v Brushless impact driver with 3ah battery (compatible with Makita) for $77:

      https://au-m.banggood.com/Topshak-TS-PW1-Brushless-Impact-Wr…

It has 380Nm Torque, which is better than Rockwell and ToolPro offerings I believe

      • +3

        It has 380Nm Torque

Take those numbers with a grain of salt. Even the entry-level genuine Makita is only 175Nm. Ozito is similar. From one of the reviews:

I immediately tried to unscrew the bolts pulled at 110Nm with the dynamometer. The result is 5 unscrewed at the first stroke.

      • +3

FYI that's an impact wrench not an impact driver. Similar names, and some use case crossover, but one is designed for driving fasteners, the other is designed as a replacement for a wrench.

  • +1

    would they be brushless?

    • At this price, I don't think so.

    • +1

No, All of these are brushed models

  • That sander is tiny, it's only meant to be for tight spots

    • +27

That's why it is called Detail Sander.

      Sorry @JV.

      • +1

        BUHAHAHA!!

    • I just did a whole table with it and honestly I liked using it better than a random orbital.

    • Thanks, will add to the OP.

I had bought a $69 4mha battery recently, will return that and get this instead as comes with batteries.

EDIT: This is the normal price!

  • +3

It's a good pack, but normal price

    • +1

I am conflicted because I hate ozjunkmail or ozrrp but I had recently bought just a battery which I will return for this instead so it did help.

    • +12

Yub but Bunnings does, and doing really well as Ozbargain community suggests.

      • Bunnings has a really easy replacement policy with Ozito, just bring in the broken tool and receipt. In my experience, staff immediately offered refund or replacement; no problems.

    • +2

They absolutely do in my case. Returned a drop saw and a drill for easy switch or credit (VIC Northlands, speak to the bald guy in the toolshop)

    • +2

Bunnings will honor all warranties in seconds never any issues from cheap items to items costing many hundreds of dollars returned, replaced or refunded over many years.
Get your receipt emailed or sent as a text to your mobile and you will always have access to the receipt. If you have lost the receipt and want a quick resolution they will happily give you a store credit as well.

Yes Bunnings is great with returns, I purchased a $200 karcher pressure washer 12 years ago and have traded it in for warranty 4 times over the years and due to model changes and availability now have a $350 ryobi pressure washer which craps all over the original karcher and hasn’t cost me a cent, with 3 more years of warranty left looking forward to my next free upgrade 😁

        • +2

          So you're a thief.

  • +1

Aldi seem to have brushless tools more often onspecial like the Aldi brushless reciprical saw $50 in a previous catalogue, no ozito brushless reciprical saw, also the Aldi brushless 1/2" impact driver is more nm than the Ozito ….. I have chargers now for Ozito, Aldi, Makita and Bosch so just cherry pick skins and batteries.

Ozito seem to have gotten lazy and no brushless circular saw or brushless reciprical saw in their range, if Aldi can do one it can't be a cost to manufacture issue.

  • +1

Waiting for offers on Ryobi kits.

  • Want to see a deal like this with dewalt

  • +1

The 3 piece kit is the same price but only has 1 battery and no saw and sander, 5 piece seems good value.

  • +3

This is a great deal, just be aware that you are buying into the ecosystem.

If you are planning to use your tools just for few jobs round the house (and the odd job here or there) you cant beat ozito for value for money but their tool range is limited.

Ryobi has a bigger range, meaning that you have more tools for a wider variety of applications (cleaning, camping, mechanical work), however this comes at a 30-40% price hike.

      • Yeah I was going to say, these days its no longer the case that you are buying into an ecosystem as its easy to buy or 3d print battery adapters. If your primary brand doesn't have a tool you want, buy another brand skin and a battery adapter. Best of both worlds. I have had the B&D Matrix kit with all the different tool heads and 4 batteries for 10 years and its been fantastic. Back then I added a Wesco 3 piece garden kit and hacked an adapter from a failed wesco battery and spare B&D charger. But the last few years I have grabbed the el cheapo Ozito specials (Jet blower $30, brushless impact driver $30, and the $14 chainsaw that uses Ozito mount) and just printed a couple adapters.

  • Note the drill does not have a hammer function.

    • You can't hit a nail with it? Turn it around, use the bottom?

      • Not sure why you were downvoted, I thought we were generally supportive of dad jokes

  • The PXC impact driver is weak. It was not able to drive in 80mm screws into floor studs. The PXC lawn mower is good. Flimsy handle but cuts well and is easy to use.

  • I bought this earlier in the year. Pretty impressed with the quality. I’m only doing odd jobs around the house but everything has worked really well so far

  • Do these sanders dust bags work? Reviews seem to say they're mostly crap.

    • Rarely. In the past (using a different machine), i connected the vacuum cleaner

  • What's the normal price?

  • +4

Ive got a lot of the pxc gear. Try to go brushless if you can.

  • +1

Great deal. I got mine last year.

  • -4

New to the tools game, but I would never buy a brush tool. Future proof with brushless. It’s not that much more, and better resell value. Wait for the deals to come.
