Reasonably new model from Edifier that began as a Kickstarter. Highly favourable reviews in terms of comfort and sound quality, especially for the price. Can be purchased for around $175 within Australia on pre-order from what I've seen.

    Have this model from Indiegogo.

    Pros:

    • very nice sound quality, dual driver setup means you can separate and hear the instruments from the vocals
    • decent app with decent controls
    • great build quality

    Cons:

    • ANC is decent, but not really any better than my old TWS NB from Edifier.
    • hiss on ANC which my old Edifier never had, can be quite strong on strong ANC on the Neobuds
    • streaming at highest quality on LDAC or LHDC to a phone will result in Bluetooth cutouts
    • no battery level indicator on case.

Have to be honest it's good for the price and for codec support, but if it wasn't for the better sound quality than my old Edifiers, I would have sold them. They're not a huge step up over old models.

Interesting, a lot of reviews never mentioned the hiss…
Nor did they mention the Bluetooth cut out with ldac..
      That's a no for me.

Narrative on reviews they all seem to be positive. When they're negative, all the outlets are negative together. Surprise surprise there's no middle ground.

Anyways LHDC/LDAC is ok on medium setting, it's just highest that has cutouts.

Hiss is normal for ANC, it's just that it gets annoying being that high and audible. My old Edifier pair get hardly audible.

Had a phillips noise cancelling years ago, that had a hiss.

No hiss on xm3 nor on my buds pro.

Xm3 never had issues with being on ldac.

I mean I looked at about 8 reviews and they didn't mention the hiss or ldac connection issue.

You'd imagine these would be noticeable. Like how a lot of reviewers talk about the crease on a fold lol.

@mbck: Yeah on my Edifier TWS NB (1st gen) you could never hear the hiss. So I was shocked when I heard it on these (and that's on default, not even highest ANC levels). Highest ANC levels are much worse.

All I can share is my experience. I was part of the second batch of shipments for their Indiegogo campaign and with the v2 firmware (that added LDAC), the ANC hiss levels didn't change.

Honestly there are very few YouTube reviewers I trust these days. Most either gloss over details or wanna keep their brand deals open.

Nice quick info there. Helped me make a decision to wait. Thanks.

No worries. I was going to wait but I thought it was 18 months since my last Edifier buds purchase, looked at the features, didn't look like that much of an upgrade. But of course I got sucked in by the Indiegogo email pricing.

Anyways if you've never had ANC earbuds before it's ok. But not nearly as good as what reviews are hyping them up to be.

  • Thought i would share as well. Have Edifier NB2 (not pro). Purchased from Amazon AU. First pair purchased in March/April - right earpiece became faded and hard to hear, clear difference between left and right earpiece. Amazon rectified this straight away with a new set sent. Now on 2nd set, received in Aug. Going good so far.
These are my first real earbuds so can't speak to others. I haven't noticed the hiss sound with these versions and i think the ANC is good, particularly for $50 odd (they are $79 at Amazon).
