  • Great coffee, one of the best OzB specials I've tried. They can put it in 500g bags (still 1kg minimum) as well - ideal if you want to freeze some.

    • I am keen to try… I have ordered and intentionally delayed delivery as I have a backlog of coffee. On a side note, Airjo Sumatra goes alright too

      • +1

Fantastic, thank you truly for ordering with us, it really is so appreciated and an opportunity we won't take for granted!

I'm very happy our unique delayed dispatch option is a winning ticket for you :)

    • Woohoo what a wonderful way to kick off the comments, thank you so much your the terrific recommendation and your recent order with us!!!

Nice additional info sharing, much appreciated, we have found our 500g packaging option is a popular choice for people :)

For anyone who hasn't opted for the 500g packaging option before and would like to you can do do by selecting "500g bags" in the "Packaging" pull down menu on the product page. Please note this option will cost an additional $3 per kg (this includes the 50% discount) to cover the extra packaging, label, packing time…

  • Good Coffee.

    • Love it, succinct (a constant battle for me to accomplish haha) and awesome, all wrapped up in a perfect two word comment, thank you so much for sharing your experience :)

      • Hey rep, is this Colombia one similar to the Brasil one from earlier deals in regards level of being roasted? Cheers

        • +1

Nice questions, will be a bit of a curve ball answer, hopefully it's helpful :)

So technically speaking this is a slightly darker roast that the Brazil Peaberry, although it may actually look a bit lighter, due to the larger surface area mixed with the Brazil being a Natural process and the Colombia being a Washed process coffee, playing sticks with your mind. This one is a Medium roast, the Brazil Peaberry was a Medium-Light roast.

  • here for the upvote. I have too much coffee (from them) >_<

    • Wonderful, love your voting skills!!!

      Too much coffee…impossible :) :) :)

  • +1

what a shame…. Delivery fee otherwise is a gold bargain

    • Yeah, I'd take free regular over upgraded express.

      • +2

I asked Australia Post and Courier's Please for free shipping…all I heard was laughter on the other end of the phone :)

I appreciate where you're coming from. If we ever can offer free shipping we will, it's just not financially viable at present. If we did so during this deal we'd loose money on every single order, which is not viable. Every company delivering goods charges shipping, it's just that some say "free shipping" and increase the price of their goods to incorporate the shipping fee.

        • +2

          I think the point is

          $42 for 2kg coffee + $8 shipping = :( :( :(
          $50 for 2kg coffee + free shipping = :) :) :)

          Human brain is dumb.

          • +3

@dekekun: I'm sure most people would be able to figure out the total cost per Kg.
It's just that we'd rather be told the full cost up front than to be attracted by a lower price, and then realised that there's additional cost.
The worse offenders are the merchants that offer seemingly lower prices than the competitors, but require you to register an account with them before revealing their excessive shipping costs

            • @EarlyBird: Yep, I will always walk away when I get a surprise at checkout.

Gotta say though I'd rather the shipping be a seperate fee so that I can order more to justify the shipping cost.
Unfortunately coffee isn't the best product to stock up on.
What we need is a really strong coffee supplier with a freight system like Coke, so they can deliver small quantities regularly at miniscule cost.

    • I thought the same initially, but it would be next to impossible for them to make a buck if they covered shipping, wouldn't be worth their time.

      • +2

Really appreciate your thoughtful analysis, you're spot on with free shipping messing with the numbers :) :) :)

If we offered free shipping then we'd make a financial loss on every single order, if we did that for long enough, we wouldn't exist, which means we wouldn't be able send out the good stuff anymore…

    • -1

Yeah as soon as I saw the delivery fee it was a nope from me.

      • Dam, we lost you at "delivery fee," hopefully we can twist your arm on a future deal to get over the "delivery fee" block :)

    • I'm OK with the shipping - the Manna Beans deals are $35 (1kg) and $60 (2kg) delivered as an example. Lime is $29 (1kg) and $50 (2kg) delivered - add $3 to each order if you want 500g bags used.

      • Music to my ears, thanks so much for sharing, I'm very happy you're all good with out deal and flat rate shipping, fingers crossed you're happy enough to shoot through an order :) :) :)

    • Shucks, I don't like paying delivery fees either, but it's still cheaper that you going to the shops and back, if you account for the value of your time on a pro rata per hour basis. If it's any consolation the flat rate shipping fees are subsidised by us aka overall shipping costs us more than the shipping fee customer pay :)

    • It's an excellent price even with delivery. If you're into coffee, surely you can afford $30/kg coffee

  • How do we get delayed shipping?

    • Nice question, thanks for asking!

When you get the the "cart" page, simply added a note saying delayed dispatch with the ideal date for you, to the "special instructions for seller" box on the bottom right side of the page :)

  • What's the longest I can delay shipping?

    • +1

There's a decent amount of flexibility within reason, March 1st 2068 may break out fulfillment systems haha, so it's best for you to just shoot out a date and I'll let you know if it's viable :)

  • How do I delay shipping on checkout?

    • Nice question, thanks for asking!

When you get the the "cart" page, simply added a note saying delayed dispatch with the ideal date for you, to the "special instructions for seller" box on the bottom right side of the page :)

  • Cheers op, I requested order #8642 be delayed by 2 weeks in the notes, hope that's how you intend for it to be done!

  • +1

Fantastic, thank you so much for placing your first order with us, it really does mean so much!

I can confirm you submitted your order note perfectly and your fresh coffee will be dispatched as per your request.

If you even need to check on any details relating to your order again in the future e.g. dispatch note, please send an email to [email protected]

  • Do you know which region in Colombia the beans are from? (My wife's family have a coffee plantation in Quindío aka Zona Cafetera region)

    • I doubt they're made in Colombia. They just make it to taste like something from Colombia or associated with the taste of flavours from there. Let me know if you find a Juan Valdez supplier that delivers to Australia haha

      • You've lost me a bit on this one… I can't think of a valid reason any company would get coffee grown in a country other than Colombia and call it Colombian, perhaps I need another coffee to be alert enough for your punchline haha

I can promise you you this SO is 100% grown in Colombia. Many Australian imports bring Colombian coffee to Australian, there's even importers that only bring Colombian coffee to Australia. There's a bit of a shortage at present, which is a tad problematic, primarily due to a shortage of food grade shipping containers, fingers crossed shipments will stop getting delayed in the coming months :)

    • +1

Nice, very happy you reached out :)

This awesome SO is grown is grown a bit further South, in the Cauca region.

I'm interested to know a bit more about your family's farm. When you get a sec could you please send an email to [email protected]?

      • I tried Colombia Jambalo a while ago and it was nice.

I am guessing this might be the same coffee. But I don't understand what's the point of hiding the actual origin.
Is it "clear skin wine" type of approach? :)

        • +1

@SickDmith our coffee isn't the Jambalo you've tried before, there's a large amount of different coffee's grown in Colombia. It's no huge secret or anything like that, I've listed the region above. We just haven't listed the exact farm because we focus on flavour by creating our own unique roast profiles. We don't want people tasting a coffee roasted by a different company and judging our coffee based on the coffee they tasted roasted by a different company e.g. two different companies could both roast the Jambalo you had with quite different profile resulting in the same coffee tasting vastly different. We like to sail in our own direction rather than follow another boat, so if someone tries our coffee for the first time we want them to enjoy the ride, rather than thinking I just went on a boat they turned left why are you turning right…not sure if I'm wording this correctly, hoping I'm making some sort of sense :)

      • It's just medium hobby farm really, employs a couple of poor families to live there, look after the place and produce some coffee and plantain to cover costs. I believe the coffee gets sold to the national coffee growers co-op - https://federaciondecafeteros.org/wp/federation/about-us/?la….

I'm an aussie but lived there for a couple of years. Most of the domestic coffee is HORRIBLE. When they wash the beans the defective ones float and these are kept for the local market. Probably like how our best beef is sent to Japan and Korea I suppose.

        • I was asking OP. :)

          • @SickDmith: Not sure what you mean, I replied to LimeBlueCoffee's comment, not yours

            • @Jase83: Lol, sorry.
              This comment structure is confusing.

        • P.S. I ordered a kg :)

  • Thanks, ordered one

    • Terrific, thank you so much for your order, it really does make a positive difference :)

  • How long can we store them before they go off? And how should we store them?

    • +1

      Great question Nick!

We recommend using our fresh coffee within about a month of opening the bag if you're storing them at room temperature, after a month the coffee won't "go off," but it will begin to go stale which takes away from the delicious flavour.

If the month or so time frame suits your quantity consumption level, then we recommend storing the good stuff in a cool, dark, dry place, such as a kitchen cupboard, pantry or bench away from direct sunlight.

If you'd like to extend the shelf life beyond a month after opening the bag, then we suggest you store the fresh coffee in an airtight container and put that container in a freezer. If you don't have an airtight container, then just push as much air out of the bag as possible, then fold/roll over the top of the bag so it's a snug fit for the beans and then place the bag in a freezer.

Feel free to shoot across any more questions you may have :)

  • Thanks Op. I also ordered #8662, requesting shipment be delayed until 22/11 in the notes.

    • WOW, thank you so much for placing your first order with us, it's truly apprecaited!

I can confirm you submitted your order note perfectly and your fresh coffee will be dispatched as per your request.

If you even need to check on any details relating to your order again in the future e.g. dispatch note, please send an email to [email protected] rather than here to avoid details getting missed :)

  • +2

Hey OP, loved the coffee last time, but any deals coming up for the decaff? My wife would love some but is pregnant.

    • +2

I asked this on the last deal 21/10/2021

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11227520/redir

      • +1

        Legend, thanks.

      • Hey guys, make sure you post a deal if you here anything.

We don't all have to email Tom to be put on an email list do we??

        • If you're still keen on a Decaf deal, then I highly recommend joining our email deal list tonight. Simply scroll to the bottom of the homepage on our site and enter your email. We only usually send 1-2 emails a month max, but if you don't want anymore deals a little way down the track then it's easy to unsubscribe to them. If emails aren't your cup of coffee, all good, just keep your eyes peeled to this terrific forum :)

  • Great coffee and amazing customer service.

    • WOW thank you so much for that wonderful vote of confidence!

I'm wrapped we're in your good books, well keep working hard to stay there :)

p.s. apologies for the delayed response, think I missed this at the time, human error…

  • I saw a comment about freezing the coffee beans , is this a good method to keep coffee beans fresh? I got some resealable 250g coffee bags from Aldi, can I buy 1KG and put half in these bags and freeze them? Or would I be better get 500g x 2? How long do you guys freeze your coffee beans for?

    • Best to put them in a few vacuum sealed bags then take them out and thaw to room temperature before opening bags. Opening and closing bags whilst beans are frozen attracts condensation and moisture apparently ruins the coffee.

  • +1

good deal, how r these for espresso with milk?

    • Would like to know too

      • +1

        Morning @AliKay :)

        Nice second on @PuntyBrah's question!

As per my answer to them in this comment chain, this terrific Single should work really well for you :)

    • Nice question, very happy to know this deal's a winner for you!

This delicious Single cuts through milk really well. We put a milk based coffee recipe guide on the bags, which is a bit different to our black coffee (espresso base) guide. If you order from us, you're welcome to follow the guide strictly, loosely or completely ignore it and do your own thing :)

  • Hi, can you do an aeropress grind? Cheers

    • Good question and the answer is yes, simply select Ground Filter on the product page and add an order note requesting your coffee to be ground for AeroPress :)

  • What is the roast date ?

    • +1

Great question, better safe than sorry!

We aim to dispatch the good stuff nice and fresh within 48 business hours of roasting and publish our next roasting session date on our site banner :)

      • Cheers… Ordered a pack of beans

  • Went to order some and some decaf, decaf isn't on special. Any deals for that roast Aswell? I was looking to buy 2kg of each. Thanks

    • Hey Jaimie,

Thanks heaps for taking the time to reach out, 2kg of each has a nice ring to it :)

We're working on our next Decaf deal, there's the next SWP Decaf shipment has been delayed due to a global shortage of food grade freight containers, could you please send an email to [email protected] when you get a sec?

  • Hi Rep, I still have the bag from last last week delivery. Would it be possible to get this delivered in 2 weeks time if I place an order today

    • +1

Awesome thank you so much for your recent and hopefully impending order, both truly mean so much to us!!!

Please add an order note to today's order requesting a delayed dispatch, the spot for the is in the "special instructions for seller" box on the cart page. If you use Paypal express to checkout you'll likely skip the cart page, in which case simply reply via email to your order confirmation email :)

      • Awesome, Thanks!

        • :)

  • Single origin for Singles day! Ordered 1kg thanks OP :)

  • Anyone that can perhaps compare this to, say, Harris (Strong)? Not an expert, just love my morning expresso most mornings and have been buying Harris from Coles/Woolies for years - can't stand any other supermarket brands and always disappointed with the stuff from these boutique coffee grinders around town, they seem weak and bland to me.
    Appreciate any thoughts.

  • I'm glad seeing the comments saying this coffee is good. Just ordered 2kg and looking forward to it! I usually split it into smaller bags myself, vac seal then pop it in the freezer to keep it fresher for longer 😉

  • -3

    Beware!

As soon as I placed an order for this coffee my credit was scammed with 3 fraudulent purchases…..

    • +1

lol don't think anyone else has had this problem. Or maybe that is why we all use paypal/afterpay options.

      • Thanks heaps for putting your most welcomed two cents in :)

Spot on with there being no issues with payments on our site and I 100% that Paypal and Afterpay are top notch in terms of security, Paypal even more so because they put the customer before the merchant which is why they are so popular (which is well deserved, they're awesome)!

    • Hey Phred,

Scammers suck, looks like unfortunate timing on the scammers, hopefully your bank sorted it out for you.

The fraudsters have nothing to do with us, all our payments are made securely, we've never had any issues, we can't even see customer details and need customer to click a payment link to securely approve any additional charges e.g. if they increase the quantity of coffee in their order. The most secure system I've seen is paypal, we have this integrated in our site, I highly recommend you use paypal for any online site you ever order from in the future. If you need me to check on your order for any reason, please simply send a reply email to your order confirmation email :)

  • +1

To all the haters of postage. I get your point, but these guys turn out cheaper than the other deals on here with free postage (even if only by a little). The SO from these guys in the last deal was probably one of the best beans I've had from an OZB deal. This is how I rate the OZB deal beans:

    1. Lime Blue SO
    2. Airjo Enterprise
    3. Airjo Sumatra
    4. Lime Blue MtM blend
    5. Undercover Roasters (but woeful shipping)
    6. Manna Beans
    7. Inglewood
Special Mention: Direct Coffee was great for the cheap Axil blends if you are into those guys
    • How do you drink your coffee? And what sort of setup are we talking?

I ask because Inglewood is probably my favourite of the ones I've tried, but I drink soy lattes and use a fairly entry level Breville.

      • +1

        but I drink soy lattes

Me too! With bonsoy exclusively and now recently on a breville Oracle.

        Inglewood is probably my favourite

I actually really wanted to like Inglewood considering I put the first deal for those guys up on this website. However it just comes down to taste and I just couldn't get into it, even after 2kg worth of beans in a row!

        • Okay, nice! Have placed an order so we'll see how much our taste differs :P

Do you have any issues with the bonsoy curdling? I've had that a couple times with certain blends, very annoying. Happy Soy Boy seems to handle it better, but it's more expensive.

          • @fLaMePrO: The curling comes from not streaming the soy correct. It is tricky. I find getting it to about 58 degrees right for me. Past that and I tend to wreck it. The wand in the breville's gets slightly clogged easily so you can ruin the milk that way too.

    • WOW WOW WOW @serpserpserp thank you immensely for the awesome spruiking skills, shipping analysis and sharing such wonderful feedback!!!

What an amazing compliment, "best beans I've had…," your comments truly do mean so much and make a positive difference to us, especially when you've done the rounds to test out such a wide variety. It's going to be hard to top your comments and awesome list, but we're sure going to do our absolute best to make your Lime Blue Coffee experience with us even better with every order :) :) :)

    • May I ask if you prefer dark roast over light/med?

      • I like medium to dark roasts.

  • Dear LimeBlueCoffee,

I was not suggesting that you had direct involvement but somehow or even perhaps, the third party that you use has been compromised - it was after all, your site that I ordered from! This is the first such incident with this credit card in over 2 years of use (and I use this card regularly although I haven't used it for online purchase for about 3 weeks). In any case, the bank was right onto scam and sent me SMS within minutes: And the card has been blocked. Thanks for advice on using PayPal.

    cheers

    • although I haven't used it for online purchase for about 3 weeks

It may have been the first opportunity to capture your credit card info when your device was compromised and could still be comprised.

or even perhaps, the third party that you use has been compromised - it was after all, your site that I ordered from!

Could be a number of reasons beyond the website itself or a 'third party'

Putting out statements like above regarding a business main form of income is quite destructive! Maybe consider validating before putting strong statements/assumptions out there…it does have a tangible impact upon businesses. It's poor form, this should have been a direct email and then comment before jumping to conclusions in front of an audience of potential customers.

      • +1

WOW Frank, talk about knowing how to walk a mile in another's shoes…if good karma is a thing I sincerely hope it's heading your way soon. I don't know if a word exists to describe how much your comments mean to us, please know they mean an incredible amount and I don't think I'll ever forget them. Your vote of confidence is so thoughtful and means the absolute world to us!!!

I don't think (hope) there was any malice intended by @phred, that said a comment made to achieve negative business results would have been written the same way. My heart did sink a touch when I first saw the initial "beware…" comment, especially with no email sent to us and not being able to send a Oz B DM due to phred's user settings, but then I took a moment and thought our systems are secure, we've never had any issues and pretending the comment isn't there won't solve anything. We value our wonderful customers and this terrific community so much, that we'd never take either for granted. If we thought there was a security issue I'd be the first one to let everyone know, stop what I was doing and go hire a cyber security company to resolve the hypothetical situation ASAP. We've worked too hard to gain such fantastic customers and our customers have been so good to us that we'd never take them for granted by making a penny wise, pound foolish decision like hiding an issue if there was one.

Thank you so much once again for being so fantastic :)

    • +1

Dodgy businesses don't act like this.
Usually they capture CC details and wait long time before use so you will never suspect them.

If it happens to me I would be checking my PC for malware/keyloggers.

    • +1

@phred I sincerely appreciate the further clarification!

I've checked online for updates with Shopify and Stripe regarding any compromises they've had today and there's no sign. If you could please email me you order confirmation, or even just your email I'll happily forward the details to both companies as an extra double check. Either way I'm glad your bank stopped the fraudsters in their tracks and that you found the PayPal tip helpful :)

    • and I use this card regularly

Did you know that more fraudulent activity happens from physical skimming of your card details opposed to online purchases?

But we wouldn't be able to unless we had your credit card statement to check against your purchases. Hopefully your bank would do that.

The payment platform these guys use is the same for many other merchants and isn't a rogue operator and I've personally used across many sites and quite a few different credit cards. Surely I would have been impacted too.

  • -4

    Dear FF,

    Responding to your comments.

It may have been the first opportunity to capture your credit card info when your device was compromised

Possible but I do not believe in coincidences.

… and could still be comprised.

how likely is that when my previous online purchases have all been on eBay

Putting out statements like above regarding a business main form of income is quite destructive!

how is it destructive? On the contrary, my comments were proffered in order to avert damage to the business: If the business has already been compromised by a third party payment engine surely it is better that this is nipped in the bud for all concerned, including the customers? In any case, LimeBlueCoffee's advice was to use PayPal as a more secure method of payment.

Maybe consider validating before putting strong statements/assumptions out there

and how does one do this - please educate me

…. it does have a tangible impact upon businesses

yes exactly and LimeBlueCoffee responded that a more secure way is to use PayPal for which I am grateful.

On the other hand, your comments have not shed any further light on how to avert such scams in the future and falls into the category of "shooting the messenger"

    • …you know that a reply to my comment is what you needed to do there. Not write another comment on the thread?

and how does one do this - please educate me

Without coming across as rude as you were towards LimeBlue, I think you could certainly benefit from free Udemy courses posted here - both in communication and understanding e-commerce as you've clearly missed the point of my original comment highlighting the problematic nature of your comments.

Best of luck champ but you're definitely muted from here, there is nothing more to discuss between us.

  • thanks @LimeBlueCoffee

this'll go perfectly with the aeropress bundle i got from you guys a couple weeks ago. you guys are a quality outfit keeping customers and coffee quality front of mind, what else can we ask for - keep these deals comin!

for those still weighing up the 'hidden' postage cost, keep in mind this is a single origin, properly sourced and roasted, and they allow for delayed delivery and split bags - sounds like a bucketload of labour…all for $30/kg…not sure even the crappy 6-month old lavazzas from coles is cheaper?

anywho, good on you Lime Blue Coffee - looking forward to my beans at the end of Nov (delivery delay request, not AusPost's fault…hopefully)
