Body wash contains Phenoxyethanol (allergen and endocrine disruptor), same with conditioner. Don't really have time to check evertyhing else. Some other potentially harmful chemicals… I find the manufacturer advertising their products as being natural misleading for the consumer.

    • Thanks, do you have any sources for it being an endocrine disruptor? That's pretty bad.

Phenoxyethanol is used a preservative and my understanding usually 1% in creams. I have attached a study below with the conclusion.

Safety review of phenoxyethanol when used as a preservative in cosmetics. - https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/jdv.15944
Based on the currently available safety data, phenoxyethanol can be considered as safe when used as a preservative in cosmetic products at a concentration of up to 1%. Adverse systemic effects were observed in animal studies only at levels of exposure which were magnitudes higher than those that consumers would be exposed to when using cosmetic products containing phenoxyethanol. Despite its widespread use in cosmetic products, phenoxyethanol is only a rare sensitizer and it can be considered as one of the most well-tolerated preservatives used in cosmetic products

      • There are different perspectives we can view those products at: one is just potentially harmful substances. Aveeno is good in that sense, as it does not have any, Dermaveen not good but not quite as bad as Sukin, I was just a bit angry at the Sukin manufacturer marketing their product as natural.

Having said that, product performance is a complitely different matter, as well as individual allergies. In other words, potentially harmful product may perform great on your skin. It is just about your goals and potential risks.

Oh, and by the way, have a look at this: https://www.amazon.com.au/NIVEA-Coconut-Scented-Moisturising… I will not comment in it's performance, but what's interesting is that it does not have many potentially harmful substances… Not somthing one would expect from Nivea and from a product at this price range…

        Name checks out.

It looks the Aveeno one has Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) which is a known skin irritant. I personally always stay away from SLS/SLES as it makes me itchy

Dermaveen still has Phenoxyethanol but i didn't know too much till this comment highlighted it.

Thanks for highlighting that Phenoxyethanol is in Sukin's body wash.

        • Thanks.

        • Now I need to re-evaluate my use of Dermaveen shampoo and conditioner….

    • Any other brands you can recommend that are better (more natural) and decent price?

  • Would it be possible to price match at chemist warehouse?

    • I can't find a current copy of their policy, but no good if it's the same as what I found in a previous OzBargain post:

Our price matching policy excludes international orders and offers that are exclusively online.

    • almost certainly not - we're not supposed to - but ymmv depending on who's serving you.

Many prices have changed. Be sure to check before checking out. Seems to have reverted back to 50% on many products.

  • I like the Sukin masks and facial cleanser. However I have found that their shampoo/conditioner causes hair loss for me over time so I stopped using it.

Now I need to figure out how to use up the rest of the bottles..

    • Bubble water for kids or use it on pets?

  • Available again.

  • good deal than woolies 50% deal, take 5 to stocking

  • Available again.
