      WOW offer is also due to the company being under receivership + its in Qld & Locked to Telstra.

      However, as a side now - its free to unlock the device via Telstra network… http://exchange.telstra.com.au/2010/10/15/telstra-removes-un… I've done it before no problem, no fee! :D

    does Australian stock really matter that much as it is a product with world wide warranty?

      I think iPhones don't have worldwide warranty unlike other Apple products. Only within the country they are meant to be sold.

        Confirmed. I had a little trouble with my iPhone about a year ago when I was on holiday in Indonesia then I brought my iPhone to a local Apple reseller and they said that they can't do anything with my iPhone because it can only be repaired in the same country where I bought it.

      So either they're falsely advertising (I don't think they're that stupid) & liable. Or it is as stated.
