I get ads for attractive men ready to mingle in my area, while all I see are elder female neighbours.

      Go figure.

      • Sounds like the right demographic for attractive men

    • +2

Can you try and buy from one of those "too good to be true" ads and let us how you go?

    • +1

Scams. The people advertising it are real but a promised money for the scam (they may or may not know it's a scam). One guy I reported told me he didn't know and actually had a guy rock up to his house demanding the ps5… Unaware he been helping out scammers. Imagine scamming the wrong person for them to track you down…

    • +2

You believe the crap on FB lol .

    • +7

Try sending them a message. I did, this is how it went:

      1. I was told warehouse is in another state. I had to make a payment into their bank account to get them to post it. Some random shop name and ABN was provided
      2. I said no, then suddenly it appeared in their Sydney warehouse. But the catch is: that person is delivering all day so no one will be at warehouse. If I pay now, it will be delivered within 2 hours
      3. I offered cash on delivery, but that is not how their processing system works. I need to make a payment in advance, then the person is going to call their boss in Brisbane, who processes the order. It will then be delivered to me, within 2 hours. All that time XBOX is still sitting in the car with that person
      4. When pointed out that PAYID sometimes takes 24 hours to appear in the account, how would they know I made the payment? Here comes the best part; I was told to send CARDLESS CASH.
      5. Facebook profile, Business Name, PAYID numbers; all have different names

Do contact them if you have nothing else to do and want to kill some time. Its good fun.

    • have you tried ad blockers such as ublock origin?

  • Heading in now, hopefully I can preorder one!
Been waiting for months for this!

    Thank you OP!!!

    • Just got one in Epping Vic @ 1300pm :)

      Hopefully will arrive before Christmas!

  • does anyone know if I can ask them to refund the deposit and pay again with gift card on the pickup day? didn't get the discounted gift card because was in a rush.

    • EB knows

    • +1

yeah, people did this last time.

    • Could you please tell me where to get discounted EB gift cards now? Can't find them on cashrewards/shopback anymore :(

  • Still available at EB Sydney as at 12.30pm.

  • Thanks OP grabbed one 2 hours ago at 10:30am

  • Got one too at 12.10pmat EB Roselands. Though the girl at the counter didn't really know how many pre-orders they could take, just until head office tells them to stop.

    • ohh did she mention "until head office tells them to stop?", cos I asked the person at the counter at EB how the allocations are looking like, and they said they're not sure, which makes sense.

      • Yeah they said they will keep taking pre-orders until they get told to stop.

  • So tempted but too many games need finishing on the ps4 😭

    • Budget permitting, the quality of life enhancements are worth it. While not as quiet as Series X, it is much quieter than PS4 Pro / PS4.

Problem is, if you kept thinking about it, you will be at the end of the pre-order queue, so hard to tell when you will get it. Double check, but EB games pre-order can be cancelled. $200 deposit is still a bit too much I think.

      • I've had these exact thoughts running through my head. But I still can't justify it as much as I want to do so. Tough being an adult sometimes 😪

    • get it, it's a great console. especially if you're on the OG 2013 ps4/slim.

  • Question about the console trade in deal:

If you want to trade in your old ps4 at the same time, do you have to bring it in when picking up the ps5?

    • I believe you can trade it in now and pick up later, paying off the remainder when you do.

Did the same with the Xbox One controller deals, but best to contact your local to confirm.

  • +1

I've been tempted to replace the PS4 Pro in my spare room with another PS5, but I don't want to lose my PT game install. :p

    • -1

yeah I did that, sell your PS4 PRO sooner than later you will prety much get all what you paid for the ps4 pro back in 2019 maybe even more.

  • -1

I have had both the xbox series X and the PS5 I recommend the PS5 over the xbox unless you don't have a PC then get the xbox.

    • Cool thanks now I don’t need to buy an Xbox to make this decision.

  • Just pre ordered PS5 at Woden ACT at 1:10pm. The rep said hopefully mid Nov Dec but could be as late last 2022

  • Ordered today; in Person in Queensland EB store just after noon.

  • Ordered from Burwood NSW. Two people in front of me at the time. They said they have been flat out all morning. Quoting 4-6 week delivery time.

  • UPDATE:
Just went to Melbourne Central EB Games and preordered one for my bro who’s been trying to get one for so long but is working and couldn’t go today.

Spoke to the staff and they said they don’t have an allocation and that they just wait until head office informs them to stop taking pre orders.

They also flat out said at least Mid December for these consoles to arrive, fingers crossed!

Wish everyone the best of luck to get one.

    • +1

also had the same response when I asked about an allocation per store.

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Got one!!

  • +2

How come they are still taking orders? Have they got unlimited supply?

  • Got one, thank you

  • So what happens if they over sell preorders then head office says not enough allocations after already taking customers money?

Do we all get a call for refund at that point, especially later orders? Or moved onto next allocation?

    • +1

I assume they’ll just be moved to next year.

  • +1

PS5 disc version pre-sales are OOS.

  • EB in Newcastle, no go. No more Pre Orders. The allocation was Nationwide not per store as some made out.

    • sucks for WA being 3 hours behind.

  • -5

^TLDR - read some, noticed 10 minutes ago, phoned in Far North QLD [no $10 for 10 Wicked Wings thanks Yumi!] - phone not off hook - went in paid deposit - done.

Got sick of trying to win, lady said maybe late Nov (will assume early-late Dec otherwise).

Better console, got a disc drive, could have got Series S pre-owned for under $400 delivered from Cash Converters - And Telstra All Access probs better deal for me, but Too long a pay off (would actually have kept the monthly Ultimate going).

Yay EB the Cyberpunk Game guide is massive, got today .

EDIT ↑ Book weighs over 1.6 kgs according to kitchen scales.

  • -2

If the PS4 trade deal extended to the discless and carried the 1t0 less cost, tbh for 400 I'd bite and grab a PS5 for myself despite the missus having one and me not caring really at all about it.

That scarcity bollocks be getting me more interested than any of the games lmao

  • -3

My info was the PS5 nationwide stopped at 2 PM Syd time .
But can still on the XBox X : Order a couple for my ducks and I won't forget the neighbours Siamese Cat that has had 1000 attempts of getting them .
    Everyone needs entertaining fun .

  • -2

I feel sorry for the remote location people as this brilliant EB Games distribution method has totally blocked em .

  • Craigieburn EB. @2pm. Was still able to place an order. I'll be ecstatic if December really is the delivery date.

  • Still 4 xboxes left in Mudgee EB

    • Isn't the Xbox X national as well .
If so it must be history as well .

  • +2

Thanks for the 4 negs (?) pre-ordered Series X ≈ 1 hour 27 minutes ago - dunno if still going, I did phone to save a drive, was told still available, went in & paid deposit.

Have now read All above comments if that was reason for the negs (I never have & will never downvote on OzB or Reddit - maybe if a genocidal dictator left a comment, I would - it's Not a popularity contest, I believe negs need a large justification).

    • +1

You were -1 and I gave you a plus to even you out bro 😎

    • +1

l have no idea what you're on about in that negged comment. I'm reading the one here and I still don't know. I didn't vote on either.

      • Why am I getting negged for looking after my ducks ? : (

  • Just picked an Xbox series X up at my local Telstra store. Maybe try them as they seem to have a bit of stock.

    • is it on a plan or you bought it outright?

      • Doesn’t matter as if you cancel the plan you just pay out the console price

        • This indeed :). You do need to have a Telstra account but it can be an old one without any active plans.

        • And pay out the game pass?

          • @Garagesale: I think you’d have to get a month to month phone plan @ min $50 but I had an old account so no idea. Paper work says that game pass stops when you cancel and that you have to pay the remainder left on the Xbox which would still be cheaper than buying it outright..

  • picked up my Forza controller. Had some talk, my local shop sold around 40 ps5. Xbox is still going but shouldn't last too long.

  • +2

For anyone still after a PS5 and is looking for advice, I got the disc-version from my local JB last Friday. I went into the store one Saturday, put my name on their no-deposit "expression of interest" list and then six days later they called to say it was ready for me. This was just last Friday (the 5th).

I've seen other people say they did the same thing and was just as fast and easy. That's why I tried it myself. I don't know if it'll work so well for everyone but it certainly worked well for me.

And with EB, for anyone feeling bad that they missed it, there are people on Twitter who say they paid a $200 deposit with them months ago and are still waiting and are now told their order won't be ready until after Christmas, so getting in a pre-order with them doesn't seem to really mean all that much.

    • What store?

      • Bendigo, Victoria. But I don't think there's anything special about that store. Before I did it myself, I saw about five different people on here recommending this method as the way to go and presumably they were at all different stores.

  • Glad my PS5 order went through JBs website last year while I was at work.

  • At this rate, isn't it better to just wait for the revised or pro version?

    • Given the supply-chain issues Sony and MS are having, the Pro/Enchanced upgrades come out before 2026.

    • +1

why not get it and play it now, trade in when the pro comes out.

    • Revised models too 3 years to arrive on the PS side last gen. One X was even later.

  • +3

I pre-ordered mine with JB Ipswich about start of october. Got it start of November.

  • +2

Just came back from Campbelltown EBGames store (NSW-2567). PS5 pre-order closed. XBox Series X still available for pre-order.

  • +1

Pre ordered the XB Series X today @ Macquarie Centre. Game pass value too good to pass

  • -1

Not getting my hopes high for this year delivery as they are still taking pre-orders for Xbox series x. Pretty sure they can't get stock in this high number.

    • +1

Been told these are for end of Nov/early Dec delivery

      • -1

Yep, but they are still taking pre order. They can't be getting thousand of units for sure. Yesterday's pole on twitter handle had 1200+ vote for units pre-ordered so assuming there will be at least 2000+ pre-orders made. There is no way EB will be getting these many units by Nov/Dec.

        • Which poll are you talking about? I know this one https://twitter.com/AustraliaPs5/status/1457940330880245760?…
          31.4% of 2789 = ~876 units

Edit: Not sure if there is away to see the results without voting but you could click "No, and I didn't try"

          • -1

@Vegeta: No you are right, I misread the number in hurry but still, if this is 876 and not all must have voted so lets say 1000 units, will EB really receiving these many units before Christmas. I seriously doubt it but let's hope they do :)

        • +5

2000 units really isn't a stack. EB has 380 stores, so that's like 6 units a store if its 2000.

The systems also sold around 13.5 million units in spite of the shortages. I don't think its unreasonable to think Australia won't have a few thousand more units coming over the next 2 months ahead of the major holiday season. A few thousand units for a small but not insignificant market seems pretty realistic to me especially given EB is the dominant gaming outlet in the region.

If anything I feel 2000 units over 2 months would be relatively small numbers and it'll still leave a lot of people disappointed. That said, I also won't be surprised if some of those orders slip to next year.

Edit: Apparently in Q2 they shipped 3.3 million units globally, so presumably there's room for AU getting a few tens thousands of units over a 90 day window or so. I’d expect US and a few other regions to get a lions share, but we should see some - https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2021/10/ps5-console-sales-re…

Wondering what insane deal Telstra did with MS - got more Series X consoles than the Microsoft Store and Every other Australian seller.

I assume the hope to keep people Ultimated for 2 years has something to do with it?

I was told Mid to Late November but worried about others deposits, told months ago & still no EB consoles for 'em.

EDIT Should T change name to Micro-Telstra?

    • +1

They’re the AU partner for the “Xbox All Access” program. I’m sure that comes with some fairly preferential conditions for Telstra in terms of stock allocation since they’ll push more GamePass subscriptions in the process than typical retailers.

  • -1

Does eb takes refund? In this process i ended up buying 2.

    • +1

Any one still after xbox, i cn transfer eb games one to you.

    • Should be able to. Worse case you can move the $200 deposit from one order to the other.

  • Hi everyone, just letting you know that I picked up an Xbox Series X today from EB games. According to my receipt I was 402/100 in the queue.

The shopkeeper had no update on the PS5 (348/100).

    • is that meant to be /1000?

      • Is it from recent pre-order?

      • Hi, yes it is from the recent pre-order. My receipt for whatever reason had it / 100.

        • I don't think 402/100 means your number in queue as I have exactly the same on my XBOX receipt and EB games hasn't contacted me yet.

          • @vasya: I also have the same number and have not had a call yet.

  • +1

    Anyone got their PS5 yet?

    • +1

In the stocks alert Australia discord someone said they were contacted to pick up their pre-ordered PS5 from Southland Victoria …. So I guess stock has started to come in. Still waiting on mine
