    Didn't work for me.
Did all the identity things, and they said they'd send an email in a few days!
Can't enter the code until then.

    • For me, it only took about 5 mins.

Make sure your photos are crystal clear. I used the same license photos to verify for like 20+ websites, and it was fine. But for Luno it wasn't good enough, I took a new photo on a white table directly under the light with flash on.

      • I took a photo of my drivers license while sitting on the couch, some shadow and it went through all fine :)

while I'm not a crypto fanboy yet, I'm dipping my toes in, I can see the success and failure of this simulatiously, just ride the gains and jump off before the bubble bursts! I know by participating I will learn something, probably more about the existing financial systems too. Sick of being a hater, I'll throw $1000, HODL for a bit and see how I feel about it.

want a ponzi scheme, look no futher than tether!!

  • Thanks OP, signed up and got the $30 BTC. Like a real OzBargainer I deposited $50 to save the $1.30 fee haha Only downside is you need to wait 2 weeks (you have to enable it) to be able to send crypto to an external wallet. Also downloaded the iOS app and it’s really good/easy to to use.

  • People that care about their future and want to build wealth are better of learning how to invest than rely on other people that just want the 2% commission or fund fee.

Wealthy young investors don’t see much use for the wealth-management firms their parents rely on. They would rather pick their own stocks or plow their money into crypto.

I already feel rich just by looking at it.

  • Are there any other crypto brokers offering signup bonuses for Aussie customers? I've noticed that Coinbase and a lot of others seem to have these sorts of offers from a simple Google search. Without going through to test all of them, I'm just a bit surprised that they aren't all listed on Ozbargain already. Is it because only a few operate in Australia and can undertake identity checks here to establish accounts, or are people just missing out on these offers?

    • There are heaps available to Aussie customers but I don’t know which ones are Australian based companies if that is what you are asking. Even if it’s international based most of them do KYC verification checks anyway.

  • China hackers will get ur details btw

I signed up on the weekend. I have already made $1.44 on top of my $30 signup credit. Log live Bitcoin!

  • Thanks, OP

  • A lot of misinformation about your tax obligations here.

    (1) The $30 is declared as income at item 24 'Other Income' in your tax return.

    (2) The cost base is $30.

  • Signup rewards are not income.

  • +2

Second that, signup bonuses are like gifts.

If your friend sent you lunch money, that would also be a gift!

  • Your account is ineligible to apply a reward or promotion at this time. Please see our terms of use.

Promo might be expired now/reached 4000 signups.

I signed up last night and did verification 10 minutes ago, the code worked.

    • I get the same error message. Just signed up.

  • Is the $30 reward still working with the promo code?

I just did it and it worked for me

Just a word of caution, if you use this exchange to put crypto in your wallet, as part of their "Fraud Prevention" they lock up your crypto for 14 days before you can withdraw to a wallet.
    AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
I just copped the fee and took my ~5K back to AUD and Withdrew the lot.
They obviously use your money to stake while claiming "Fraud Prevention"
ABSOLUTE CROC. No phone number of customer service.
    Again - I stress - AVOID.

Just use SWYFT or BTC Markets, none of this BS.

A lesson learnt for a "free" $27 haha

  • Trading in this market requires patients. People that don't have that is ngmi.

    • I need wax for some NFT's . Is there any Oz exchanges that have the best spreads or am I better going elsewhere ?
I'm focused on best possible price possible .
Coinspot the spread is terrible and finish killing you with another 1% thinking everyone is dummies and don't see the spread :)

      • Everyone I know uses Swyft. Best fee structure. Not sure if Oz though.
None of this hold your money to ransom bs either.

  • this offer isn't expired still valid

    • I encourage everyone to take their (Luno's) money and run!

10 minutes from App Store to money in the bank. Deposited $50 to skip the $1.30 fee. Very smooth ID verification process for non Aussie-citizen/PR.

Big catch is that it takes 14 days to unlock Cryptocurrency transfers because "security". Best to just take the bonus and go to another exchange.

    • Yeah I did the same and didn’t like the 14 day waiting period. I don’t understand how that is security when we’ve already passed KYC.

      • Lots of comments on this throughout the thread and I 100% agree, it's nonsense.
I have given them constructive feedback about having further verification e.g a person contact you to ensure you know what you are about to do when transferring money outside an exchange.
They are simply uninterested, which backs up my theory it is not customer protection, it's 14 days to stake/use your funds to make money.

        • Yep I tried too and it was pointless. I think I’m gonna wait for 14 days and then just take it all out and then never use it again. They would be surprised if they knew how many people didn’t want to use the platform for reasons like this.

          • @bobwokeup: Yeah they are just praying on newbs IMO. I gave them feedback allright haha
            Swyft for the win!

            • @John Dough: That is a good point it does feel like that. I keep hearing Swyft is the way to go is that due to their good spreads?

              Why do you use them?

              • @bobwokeup: Lowest fees and UI is pretty slick.
Verification gives you high limits to trade
                2FA
                Trusted and well known/used

                LFG WAGMI :P

                • @John Dough: Cheers good to know and how is the staking?

                  What’s LFG WAGMI?

Ps with Luno I put my BTC into my savings wallet and just notified it takes up to 3 days to send from BTC savings to BTC Wallet. Again no idea why it’d take that long?

                  • @bobwokeup: Not sure about the staking, I have not used.
Lifes ahem good. and We're All Gonna Make It :)
Yeah the wait times are dodgy all round, massive red flag and everyone should avoid this grub company (except to take $30 from them)

                    • +1

@John Dough: Cheers I think they recently updated or released it will have to have a look.

Ahhhh I see haha showing my age!!

Agreed it’s a nice UI but that’s about it.

  • +1

They seem to apply a 14 day waiting period if you want to transfer to another wallet.

    • Yep avoid!

    • If you need the money, you can transfer back to Fiat currency and withdraw with no wait time, but that whole cycle costs you $200 in fees.
Very ordinary from them not to be reasonable and offer an alternative if you can verify or prove you are fine with the risks of sending your crypto elsewhere.

That was easy. I'm surprised how fast it was
