I like how the OP has condensed the deal into the top 3; better get in quick before the deal evaporates

Now that's a deal. I use these now instead of Nestle ones at the supermarkets. Taste the same. Half the price.

Made me check the super savers and you’re right some really good ones
    https://www.aldi.com.au/en/groceries/super-savers/
Notable for me are the antipasti, blue cheese, goats cheese, hummus triple pack.
Those cheese and cracker snack packs are very cheap too at $1, normally I’d just cut my own cheese and grab crackers but I know some like the convenience.

  • Fabulous price. Any other examples you could give? Thanks

  • What do people use this for?

Just made this using a tin with a 10 year past expiry date. Came out already caramel coloured. Yet to taste, but looks great. Thanks.

        • Oooh mamma, that’s some niiiice fudge! Makes about 900 grams.

          • @wfdTamar: Sure is, my family love it, the grand-daughter even wanted to start selling it at school haha! She had a plan I buy the ingredients, she helps make it and then she sells it and we go halves with the takings, she's going to go far.

Making yoghurt. Mix a can of condense milk, 2 can of milk, 2 can of boiling water, 1/2 can of Greek yoghurt. Pour it in smaller cups. Keeping in 45oC environment for 5-6 hour or until thicken. It will be better than store bought yoghurt. (Make sure you add Greek yoghurt last)

Every single Christmas dessert recipe requires one or the other. I find i get them at the end of the year usually.

Either that or flummery - just jelly crystals + enough boiling water to activate (or gelatin & chocolate powder) plus chilled and beaten evap milk to get a great and very cheap mousse.

      • I just throw unopened condensed milk in a large saucepan of boiling water, and keep it there for an hour or so and then cool a can and get caramel taste brown looking sweet treat

        • Homemade dulce le leche. Not sure why but my cans rust like crazy when we did that.

    • Rum balls baby! Stock up now for Xmas.

South American (Argentina, Chile, Colombia and the likes) Dulce de Leche.

Put them in boiling water for 2.5hs rotating the can every 30min to avoid crystallisation on just one side. Let them cool down. You've got some delicious thing very very similar to Dulce de leche.

Make ice cream, use it for cake filling or just eat it straight from the can if you are brave.

You could buy the already made ones too, but they do not taste the same, good enough tho if you don't care much

Aldi used to sell ready made in cans around Christmas time, but it does not come with excitement of cans exploding in the pan and associated cleaning of kitchen walls and ceiling while treating 1st degree burns

        • +1

The sweetness of condensed milk helps with licking the wounds/burns.

      • It's popular in Russia too

    • In case we run out of milk, this is used for tea and coffee. Works as well as the heat treated stuff, but lasts longer

    • If you have a sous vide rig or an automatic pressure cooker that becomes "Dulce de Leche" - a kind of thick, gooey toffee - real easy. Set the appropriate time and temperature, drop the whole can in, and wait until it's done. For some sous vide rigs you'll want to remove the label so it doesn't gum up the circulator; for pressure cookers you'll want the can to be cool before you open it so it doesn't squirt hot toffee everywhere.

It's the toffee flavour in Banoffee pies, if you've had them; and it's really, really good.

    • I have begun using it in a number of dishes, notably to make a very quick and easy carbonara sauce or 5-minute pressure-cooker mac and cheese

  • Add a bit of condensed milk to your coffee for color and taste without diluting the coffee too much, gives it a nice and creamy taste.
