  • Is this worth over the non pro model if I already have it?

    • Probably not, the processer is better but the screen is the same. If it had an AMOLED then it might be worth considering.

I have an X3 NFC too and feel like it's not worth upgrading for now, phone works great.

      • +2

Yeah i agree. I think the cameras are better on non pro. Only issue i have is it's too wide for single handed use, but this seems to have same dimensions.

      • No.
X3 NFC here, going strong with a custom ROM on a Snapdragon SD 732 chipset. It's so fast it feels like an upper midrange phone.

  • +2

    Associated?

    • +3

Yes. User is from Toronto, hasn't added GST to the price and has a tracking URL.

  • +14

You forgot the GST so it's much more expensive and you have a tracking URL. Got ourselves a sockpuppet I think.

    • Do you have a copy of the original URL? The system might have overwritten it.

      • Looks like it did. There was a 'trace?buymobiles' or something at the end. I can't remember the exact code but I have seen it around before.

    • +2

      Detective Clear.

Ahh you're big on transparency aren't you!

      • +1

Gotta live up to my name.

  • Does this still have the issue with BOOST sim cards?

  • A reliable dealer? Some bad reports/reviews - though maybe at similar levels to others.

    • One of the more reputable stores from years ago, dunno how they are now. They're generally more expensive than other vendors now.

  • +1

yep need to add GST. That being said HK Goldway is a solid seller.

  • Not best price, Mi official store will be slightly cheaper at 11.11, around $8-9.

  • +3

Good luck getting your new phone in two months' time.

My Banggood order from HK stock shows as 08-12-2021 ETA. AliExpress should be of similar delivery.

    • +1

for something over $100 the delivery should be reasonable quick based on my experiences pre-covid.
2 weeks, 2 and half… something like that.

just last month - my $2 cable will takes 5 weeks

Are there any smaller Ozbargain-favourite phones to keep an eye out for? I need to upgrade but 6.7" and 200g+ is too big for me.

    • +1

once you go 6.7" after months you want bigger trust me. just like TV

      • +1

Yes.. just like a.. TV ;)

      • +1

I disagree. As a former mi max owner, the 6.7" 21:9 form factor is unnecessarily long, makes it difficult to use and play many games. Only benefit of it is multi tasking and twitch viewing.

      • +1

Yeah, everytime i get a phone i want a bigger one, i have upgraded so many times i now have a 55" smartphone.

    • Also looking for a good camera cause I don't do computational fluid dynamics on my phone

      • I'm not sure if the camera is bad, if redmi note Pro Line is what you're looking for if you want budget camera.

    • agree, I'm after a smaller form (maybe 5") mobile with a decent camera and NFC (I'd like a headphone jack this isn't a must)
ozbargain seems obsessed with massive screens

I've got a pixel 2 that's great, but the camera lens is scratched and the battery isn't great. I'm tempted to just buy another pixel 2 but I reckon i'd be taking a gamble on the battery being any good

Cheaper deal as above and suspected sockpuppet.

  • Got the Xiaomi Note 9 pro about this time last year, pretty happy with it. After going flagships Samsung phones and being disappointed when they didn't last 4 years (for me) especially with a huge decrease in battery life. I think I'll continue to buy around the $300-$450 mark.

One thing I'm disappointed in is that Vo-WiFi doesn't work on my note 9 pro (even after entering the codes and enabling it in settings) and I've heard it's similar for a few of the other Xiaomi phones. Worth keeping in mind.

Unsure about how easy it'd be to get the phone repaired if something went wrong too. Won't get the same local support from stores that you might get with an iPhone.
