I find that at this time of year the closer it gets to Christmas the less likely you are to find a bargain on something like a newly released iPhone. I'd look for the best bargain now or wait until next year.

Second-hand is an option, as a lot of people will realise the max is too big and sell it for the smaller pro. There's always the Apple Gift card option if they ever offer 15 or 10% off. You might be lucky to find an eBay sale or Costco might also have a sale. Good luck! P.S. there's always the Google Pixel 6 Pro for $1,299
It's not even that big. Basically the same as my S9+.. wouldn't want any smaller..
S9+ is 6.2-inch vs 13 Pro Max 6.7 inches. A lot of people do prefer the Pro with the 6.1" screen after trying the pro max for the first time.

iPhone never goes on sale, aside from Costco selling for about $50 off RRP. Best you can usually get is the 30x points promo Flybuys/Everyday Rewards which gives you some grocery money back.
I got a good deal with Cashrewards, 7% cash back from Apple when I bought iPhone 11 ~2 years ago.
I doubt there will be any deals because there's a 3 week wait for the phones.

Usually it's rare to find sales on iPhones, and now it's sold out everywhere, there's even less of a chance.
Best bet is Costco online, they're about $100 off RRP for the pro max models.
They have 512gb gold pro max left for $2289.99

Just be aware, I think they only ship by Australia Post regular, and right now shit being shipped by Aus Post regular can get stuck for months.
