  • Wondering if it’s worth holding off any any solar to see if both government penalises for excess feed in in peak times and possible battery subsidies now that we are going net zero 2050?

    • Hey mate,

That's a good questions, a very difficult one to answer, i guess only the government will know right?

All we can do is comment as to what is in front of us, over the next 5yrs the prices of the STC credit seem to being going down by 10-15% per annum, as well as higher import costs on components.

      Cheers

      Nathan

Federal govt? Doubt it, they are against it but just signing up to the target for appearances. Actual action will probably occur in the years to come when we have a different set of leaders.

  • Do you install in Orange off grid plantation

    • Hey mate,

And as is Orange NSW? Near Bathurst area yeah? If so, i'd love to go down there for a job, I am a Stannies boy, (St. Stanislaus College) What sort of size system are you looking for? P.M me with mor details and we will see if we can help.

      Cheers

      Nathan

  • Damn this is so much cheaper than what my parents got years back

    • Hey mate, what you will see is prices fluctuating over the next little while, the STC (like the stock markets) go up and down, the prices of components are on the upwards (unfortunately) only time will tell as to what the prices will be like in 1-3-6 months time.

      Cheers

      Nathan

      • My parents got 3kw system for 3.6k a couple years back prices for solar have dropped significantly since then

        • hey mate,

So funnily enough, even today a 3kW would still be around the $2,700-$3,000, the big difference is the STC credits at the moment. It's better off to go a 6.6kW system which is nearly the same price as a 3kW

          • @Nathan94: That is interesting to hear. Thanks !

            • @StarPlatinum: No problem at all mate, have a look into the STC credit rates per system size. It's pretty astonishing the amount of credits they are giving out dependant on the system size.

          • @Nathan94: Interesting, what about a 10kW system?

            • @Corgsta: hey mate,

depending on what components you wish to go for, with us, the 10kW starts at $4300

  • Isn't this a 6.3kw system considering it only consist of 17 370w panels?

    • +1

      hey mate,

My apologies, i have just amended that typo

      Cheers

  • "Price advertised is for single storey and single phase dwellings."

how much for 2 storey and how do i find out what phase my house is using?

    • +1

      hey mate,

so we charge an extra $300 for double due to the extra risk and time for our staff. Regarding your meter box, please feel free to send me a photo in a private message and i will be able to tell you straight away if it is a single or 3 phase dwelling.

      Cheers

      Nathan

  • how much for a 9.9kw and additional cost for removing existing 2kw systme?

    • hey mate,

Send me a private message with the following details, we will quote using the nearmap/open solar program (this shows you the design) as well as send a proposal to your email.

      first and last name

      single or 3 phase?
      single or double storey?
are you happy with the astroenergy and SAJ bundle?

      Cheers

      Nathan

      • Wondering what happens to the old system

        • Put on Gumtree or Facebook if it doesn't get broken in removal.

  • What is the country of manufacture for the panels and inverter?

    • hey mate,

like 80% of the market, we do use mainly Chinese products, our difference is we purchase the products through Australian retailers which basically means the warranties are upheld in Australia.

These bigger companies importing their own panels are selling systems where the warranties are not designed/warranted for our sort of conditions therefore the warranties given ie; 12yr/15yr product and 25yr performance warranty will not stand in this country.

      • +1

Interesting you comment on panel warranty, when I believe fair trading, ACCC etc would be firmly on the consumers side when claiming on a stated product warranty.

Also interesting is the maintenance AstroEnergy expects panel owners to undertake in order for their warranty to remain valid..

This is worth a read: https://www.solarquotes.com.au/blog/astronergy-solar-panels/

        • Hey mate,

You make a great point, but if you wish to find out some information, get a few different proposals from companies and 90% of them will state the the system must be checked over and maintained every 12-24 months for warranties to be kept.

Again, what you will also find, that companies that import their own panels, have to guarantee the system for 12 months, there after you will be left on your own, as stated the panels are not warranted for Australian conditions. You are more than welcome to have a look online and gather some information to validate what i am saying

  • Anything with a hybrid inverter?

    • The SAJ is a pretty cheap inverter. If you want a battery might be wisest to swap out inverter when you get the battery so you know it's compatible. That or get an AC coupled battery later.

      • Hey mate,

You're right, the SAJ is a cheaper inverter, if you wish to get a battery, i'd suggest getting a hybrid inverter upfront instead of swapping later when you get a battery to mitigate the costs with replacing down the track. Why pay for 2 inverters when you don't need to?

        • For now I think it's hard to pick compatibility and value between brands in the future.

Regardless, I'd be banking on LFP for home storage given the reduced fire risk and depth of discharge.

  • Hi @Nathan94, I've heard that shadows over just part of one cell can destroy the effectiveness of the whole system. Is that true? We've got a chimney, an exhaust fan outlet and some roof vents to work around, as well as some large trees on the side street and in a neighbours yard that sometimes overshadow parts of our roof.

    • Hey mate,

This is false in regards to the shading over just one cell, there are panels out there that can minimise the risk of shading causing system downfall. There are also different ways to minimise the affect of shading such as micro inverters. I guess this all depends on what you want to spend on a system, what your current electricity bills are and how long you wish to get a ROI.

Send me a private message with some details and we will see what we can do for you.

      Cheers

  • Message sent.

  • Just got a quote for 3 phase and double storey house with Origin Energy for $5200..

    6.63kW system 1-Phase including 17x390watt JA Panel & 1x5kW Goodwe 1-Phase inverter

    • +2

      Hey mate,

whilst Origin are a huge company, that pricing seems quiet excessive, we can do the same a 6.63kW with JA panels a Goodwe single phase 5kw inverter for $4,199.
3 phase for Goodwe add $400, add double storey for $300. Total for 3 phase double storey with above would be $4,899. (within 50km of prestons NSW)

      • +1

I got a quote for $3500 for single phase Q Cells QMaxx panels and Goodwe inverter. They are doing installation tomorrow. Origin was much more expensive but I guess you are getting a major company backing warranty which is likely going to be there in 10-20 years when you will need them.

        • +1

          Hey mate,

That seems like a very very good price for that system, i hope all goes well with the install and the performance.

          All the best.

          Cheers

          Nathan

          • @Nathan94: I am quoted $4,850 for 7.02kw solar (18 JA panels) plus 1x6.6kW Goodwe 3-Phase inverter. Including installation on a double story tiled roof.

Nathan, can Synergysolar price beat this?

            • @mrhasankhan: hey mate,

              yes we can do $4,599

              Cheers

              Nathan

        • That's good deal mate. Is it in NSW?

        • Who is the provider, can you post the detail please. Thanks.

        • Yeah more info, are they listed on Facebook under the crap solar group, lol?

          • @LaTerrible: I hope not. Don't quote me on the price to him. It's Rescom. Reviews were positive on the solar quotes website. But he said prices may go up next month

            • @Royale with cheese: We should get together and ask for better deal πŸ˜‰

              • +1

@jag007: Haha I just did with a friend. I am not sure if he did a good price or if this is standard. Arise solar is offering around 3700. I think some others offer tier 1 panels around 3300 too but this company is around for 7 years
