Dynamic Reverse Cam Lines, What Cars Have Them?

Recently bought a newer car and found out that it actually tells me where I'm steering towards on the reverse cam. Being a learner driver I really love this feature but unfortunately it probably means if one day I drive someone else's car and that car doesn't have the feature, then I might not reverse as well.

Tried looking up some YouTube clips of different cars reversing and a lot don't seem to show it or maybe turned off, does your car have or not have it?

    I have these.

I do not use them that much, they are a guide but I still use the side mirrors.

Definitely in my Audi from 2007, learnt with mirrors, but once you have it it's hard to not use it.

Kia's have had them for years, can't turn it off AFAIK.

Like tsunamisurfer I don't rely on them much preferring my side mirrors and quick shoulder checks.

  • Honda has them

Learn to reverse park without them please. Thanks

this x every number in history

I'd add learn to drive with no aids… we'll be better for it. YOU should be as well.

      • No power steering? No automatic transmission? No ABS?

        • Nope. Why do you need an auto? both my cars are manuals without ABS…

Cars have had power steering since the 50s

@pharkurnell: My point being that learning to drive with absolutely no aids is ridiculous.

            • @sween64: Why is it? Its called learning. people still do it

              • @pharkurnell: ABS is an important safety feature. We used to build bridges where workers just sat on beams with no harnesses or hard hats. A bridge worker should learn not to fall off a beam, yes. However, it's still logical to use safety devices as another layer of defence.

In the same way, drivers can learn how to avoid locking their brakes in wet weather, yes. Is it useful to still have ABS? Absolutely.

  • One of our cars has them

  • Current generation Toyota RAV 4 has them.

  • Haven’t had a car with a factory reverse cam, let alone dynamic lines.

There are an absolute tonne of them, it's hardly rare. Also, not a feature to buy a car for.

If you can't reverse park without them, you shouldn't pass your test

Please learn how to drive while on your L's

      you shouldn't pass your test

Makes you wonder how they do pass eh..

  • Just learn to use your mirrors, great for seeing the kerb ….. have the reverse parking lines in my Kia Sportage, have never used them in 3 years, go the mirrors!!.

  • Grand Cherokee has it, plus centre line for towball

  • Recent Subaru's also have the dynamic lines. The lines are an OK aid, but the real benefit of the rear camera is the ability to see the kerb, pot plants or other objects that are otherwise not visible when reversing into a small spot.

  • Our Hyundai has them. Have gotten way too comfortable with reverse cameras and the guide lines, jumped in the old lady’s Mazda 3 the other week with no reverse camera at all and felt blind.

  • 2010 Lexus has it
