Only Todd Howard and the COD franchise could try to justify $55 for an 11 year old game.

  • Real gamers would be dropping another $100 on the Anniversary Edition in a couple weeks.

I'm currently modding Skyrim SE (adding mods to it, and customizing some of them). Lexy's guide is a good place to start, but is a little barren in some areas (no housing mods for instance, few clothing adding mods, few largescale town alterers), and some of the choces might be too hardcore or too divergent for a first playthrough (eg Wildcat combat, Morroloot "Omega", Experience). You could just install remeshes, retextures, sound fx replacements and fixes if you want a close to vanilla game with a more modern aesthetic quality.
