Seems like a decent price for RAM that does not look too bad either.

its very good, never had an issue
Have you overclocked?
Thought people usually get paid to have rgb on.
lights on these are good (bright etc), but no memory (even the Wraith Prism RGB has memory) so a reset means they are flashing randomly
with RGB ddr can you set the color and have it stay default/without software controlling it?
ie i hate razer rainbow effect without using synapse…
would it rainbow on bootup lol
nice find, good deal.
Damn, why did I buy RAM a month ago?
Damn, why did I buy RAM a 15 months ago! I bought this for $120…At least graphic cards prices weren't as insane back then lol
This was like $80 this time last year
that was the black friday or prime day I think? either way it was Amazon US or UK, so not local stock
heck i remember this going for $69 in 2020, RAM was bonkers cheap, a huge bounce back from it being expensive as f uck in 2016/7 where I remember having to fork out 200 for 2 x 8gigs of DDR4.
Now RAM is decent priced while GPUs go off the rails and slams into the cruise ship hull. Sinking the entire budget build
If I remember correctly, I bought a set for around $70 ~September last year on amazon
@Dantingso: I remember missing that deal and another similar deal. I ended up with 32gb for $150 so it worked out
Same. I regret not buying the RGB version lol
Is this good for the Acer Nitro 5? I already have an extra 8 GB stick. Would it take an extra 2 8 GB sticks to bring it up to a total 32 GB RAM?
This is desktop RAM.
Laptop won't fit
Your laptop use desktop ram?
Ah my mistake.
good oc chip for cheap, although 2x8 pvs b die is $141 rn
Can I push this to 3600mhz ?
Should be completely stable at C16, yes.
You can check safe OC tunings for Micron Rev E and Rev B by downloading the Ryzen DRAM calculator and plugging the basic info in and hitting the Safe button.
It doesn't need system specific info for that AFAIK, it's just a lookup table based on the motherboard chipset and RAM die type you select.
yes easily, even 3600 c14 is easily possible and 3800 c14 is attainable for people who know what theyre doing
dont use dram calc, its just reads of a spreadsheet that uses unstable timings and doesnt factor in anything really, and the people that preach of its power say its good for a baseline, despite the fact that a baseline isnt needed.
use this
https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DD…
Will it fit and work on my lenovo mini?
I think lenovo minis use SO-Dimm - and the one I have is ddr3 - but your milage may vary
Will this fit 2012 MacBook Pro
no, it's desktop ram.
I ordered some gear from Shopping Express yesterday to upspec the Acer Nitro I pulled the trigger on, and it's already been delivered today - amazing stuff especially with Covid delays. They're in Syd and I'm in Bris
Anyone getting charged $1 surcharge?
They have Surcharge (1.00%)
Yeah then that should be in title no?
Waited like 4 months to buy RAM, got this set for $149 then all RAM immediately tanked in price lol
Made the same mistake believed the hype it was going to go up
DDR5 is expected to cost 30% more than DDR4 when it's available next month… which means it will probably cost about the same as DDR4 did a month ago.
The estimate I saw the other day was 50-60%, and historically been 40% with such a leap, but those were less complex.
Do you have a source for your estimate?
DDR5 will start from 4800MHz, so they put the price tag based on the frequency ^_^
but forgot DDR5 also starts from C40Again do you have any public source material on this? It's exciting if true, though.
@jasswolf: http://www.kimtigo.com.cn/products_detail/106.html
this is from a Tier 5 chinese manufacturer's website
pre sale at ~$200 for 2*8GB here https://item.jd.com/100015187219.html
targets to ship with intel Alder lake products.
useless now as no current Mobo would support ddr5
Any reason not to go with G.Skill Aegis 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz for $89?
edit: My bad - no free shipping on this one so ends up at about same price.
https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/g.skill-aegis-16gb-2x…
or recent deal of this Teams DDR4 3200 C20 1.2v, or DDR4 3200 C16 @1.35v at ~$75
at least number on the spec sheet is same 3200 c16, probably the teams one is less capable for OC. but 3200 C16 @1.35v is on spec sheet.
https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08H8JDQK1This one should have Micron Rev.E which is much more capable for overclocking than the IC G.Skill uses which is most likely C-die for their 10ns SKUs.
Good Deal but I'd be wary of that site
I've never heard of it and reviews are not great: https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/shopping-express
Lol. Never heard of shopping express. Only 166 PAGES of ozb deals in the past 10 years.
Like I said, I've never used them. It's just generally not great when a company has more 1 star reviews than 5.
I've had no issues, I cried once to them that I'd missed a special price by one day and they wound the price back for me on a CPU - doesn't get any better than that.
You must be new here to not have heard of SE
Says they are a member since 16/10/2021, so literally yes they are new hahaha
They are online only, likely a grey importer. They often have very good deals and shipping is fast enough. Never had to deal with customer support though
I need 32gb so do I get 4 sticks of this or go for 2 sticks of 16gb better? the 2 x 16gb is a Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz CL16 for$15 more what is difference between this and that as well?
depends on cpu and motherboard
4x8 of this would be dual rank rev e while that 2x16 kit could be dual or single rank of any die on the earth so we dont really know.
if 2x2x8 of this ballistix is cheaper than id go for it, dual rank is generally better and rev e isnt very strenuous on the imc so it should be fine even on a bogged cpu and board.
but again depends on cpu and board
It's decent ram
