Tarok Essential Gaming Chair 'Razer Edition' REZ0001 $199 Delivered @ Costco (Membership Required)

480

Pretty decent price on this chair, especially with free delivery. Ordered one for my son.

The Tarok Essentials Razer Edition Gaming Chair is designed by Zen as the name states you are provided with all things essential in the new Tarok Essentials. But with the affordable price tag, you are still provided with the same pillars of craftmanship and build across the full chair, as on the Tarok Pro and Tarok Ultimate you are still getting a gaming chair with the same 3D soft coat padded armrests, the same XL 60mm PU covered pressure release wheels and class 4 gas lift with 100mm travel and a full metal frame chair with moulded foam in both seat and backrest. The Tarok Essentials gives you the same components as the top of line gaming chairs, in recognisable frame design. The Tarok Essentials comes with PU covered regular foam pillows and a regular tilt mechanism lockable in the full upright position.

I'm shocked. No RGB. I'm not buying it then.

gaming chairs are so smooth brain

  • I'm not a Mercedes F1 fan but the computer/gaming chair in Costco at the moment is beautiful. Expensive but beautiful.

  • Do you think it is really good in this price? Just curious if I should buy this or some other?

Highly doubt that it's a high end chair, but teenage gamers love it

    • It's an entry level chair that'll do the job.

Patiently waiting for the ROG chair to drop at ikea.

    • is this the MATCHSPEL chair?

    • It has dropped, I am sitting in one now.

how do you rate it? Any insights will be appreciated

I love the lower back mesh support and the lean back function.

I hate the pleather seat, my legs stick to it a bit. I can probably fit that with a slim seat cushion.

The head rest is a bit so so, not quite in the right position for me, but not in the way either. I'm 6ft, 75kgs for comparison.

The castor wheels are pretty average.

Overall I really like the seat. It is great value, and comfy. I was also considering the Steelcase LeapV2 and Gesture… but I'm not sure those chairs warrant $1500 vs the $250 for this chair.

Ikea have a great returns policy too - so if you don't like the chair, you can take it back.

        • Tried the new IKEA chair last weekend, I'm a "tall" guy 5'11 and i found that in comparison to the Jarvfjallet the cushioning was far too soft and as mentioned above the "pleather" sucks and seems like it will peel after a little while on the chair. The headrest was very sensitive to any sort of movement and when I tried to lean back it kept on retracting. Please also note unlike the Jarvfjallet it doesn't have any lumbar support. The one thing I'll give it though is that the armrests are decent and adjustable, and the aesthetic is pretty cool.

I ended up buying the Jarvfjallet fabric chair because I already use that one at work and wanted to get the same one at home. Without the armrests it's actually $50 cheaper than the new IKEA gaming chair. It's not the most amazing chair in the world, but it's the best chair I have found yet.

Got any reviews on the seating itself? Looks like pleather which would flake over time.

        • +1

So far so good but only been less than a week. Significant comfort improvement from previous Buro Metro-style chair.

Seat cover doesn't feel like super cheap chairs but certainly not premium either. You get what you pay for. At least IKEA's customer service is decent so if it does flake, will definitely go back to them.

You wont find any leather chairs in this price range…

    • Had it. Terrible chair, becomes squeaky after a week and after two weeks the padding is not sufficient for comfort. Returned it for a refund

I just realised this isn't even a Razer product.

    • +3

Yep, very misleading when the company only has their brand on a small neck cushion.

    • +2

      i was honestly fooled

  • Tempted - But cannot find any reviews on it, and I'm thinking that a sweaty teenager and PU are not a great mix?

    • Sweaty? You'd probably want a mesh chair for that

Regardless, steer clear of anything labelled as a 'gaming' chair. They're all built to the same terrible quality by the same few factories. The gas struts in the base stops working as it begins to leak, the cushioning quickly deforms exposing the user to the frame, and the PU flakes and gives the chair an abrasive feel to it. All within the first year or two of 'moderate' use

I'm rocking an Ikea MATCHSPEL Gaming chair.

$250, head rest, high back, lean back function. My only complaint is the "pleather" cushion is not breathable and does stick a little.

Is there any office chairs under $100 worth buying?

    • I’m also interested in cheaper options. The “gaming” chair I bought years ago is peeling etc., but it’s hard to find a decent replacement with armrests that rise up. I use a sciatica cushion anyway, so it’s still totally functional, yet these gaming and office chairs feel overpriced when I see em pop up…

    • You get what you pay for. $100 is peanuts for any piece of furniture, much less one you're sitting on daily. Bump up to $300 and you can start to look at budget ergonomic chairs.

    • I’ve an Ikea Flintan ($99) since 2018 and it’s all right. I’m 6'3" and it’s reasonably comfortable, with a breathable mesh back, comfy synthetic fabric seat, decent lower back support, tilt with lock, and a 10 year guarantee.

I’m considering upgrading to the top of the line Ikea Gruppspel black leather ‘gaming’ chair once it’s released in January, but only if the reviews indicate it’s good. The Flintan is definitely good value for money though.

  • Anyone know if the HUVUDSPELARE or UTESPELARE are worth it from Ikea?

    They're both relatively new items

  • Hi, Is this chair also sold in Costco store? Or only online?

    • The email says online only offer

      • Ok. Thanks. Save my travel time to Costco 😊

  • Try and get a DXracer chair if you can got one almost brand new hardly used of FB marketplace for 150
