How is this over 3k RRP? Wtf.

Latitude is generally very high priced, not like the inspiron range

    • It's a stupid rrp but as dosada says it's the business line from dell, typically comes with longer warranty and used to be more 'robust' when I used to purchase them for my work place…haven't dealt with Dell in a long while so can't comment if it's still better build quality than inspiron range..

      • Can confirm. Have a work latitude and a personal Inspiron, the latitude has a much better build quality and battery - similar to a MBP. The Inspiron is not that bad, but is thicker and cheaper build. Still fine though but not premium.

Update: Looked at the specs/photos. This is the cheap end of the latitude range so it looks much chunkier than my work latitude (which was $3k) and looks very similar to an Inspiron.

        • Ah good to know so still the same as it was… Haven't dealt much with them for 6 years or so…

        • This is getting more confusing, how many latitude ranges are there??

Make sure you upgrade ram from 16 to 32gb. It's just over $500 extra.

  • +1

Don't know anything about this laptop, but seems like a bargain compared to the i7 versions. Latitude are known to be higher quality, business grade laptops.

2x8gb also available for same price.

Edit: also the 'Bonus5' code is listed on the Shopback website (albeit as an extra 5% off for 'Vostro Small Desktop'), so could be worth risking it for the double discount.

For anyone purchasing it would be worth remembering to upgrade the wireless card for $0.00

  • Seems very thick? For extra $300 you can switch it to touch screen. Not sure if worth the upgrade. Im in too minds with going for Lenovo i7 for around 1600 or this for same price. Obviously i7 thinner and more consumer friendly.

  • 250 nits???

    • Looks like you can upgrade the screen to a 400nit for an extra $300.

      • too much dosh

  • ShopBack cash back is calculated on the ex. GST amount, not the full amount of $1173.63. Cash back is around $160, not $176.

they have soo many issue with trackpad with this model. the older model 5411 has a better trackpad design.
Regardless, this is a really good price for latitude

Our global dell rep has told us there MAYBE a up to 27 week delay on new PC/Laptops….
the last ones we ordered in June turned up 2 weeks ago.

    • Yeah I ordered a high end latitude in June or something and it's due soon (early Nov?).

  • Remember to pick windows 10 pro.

  • Which RAM option is better, 1x16GB or 2x8GB?

    • +1

2x8 is better unless you're going to upgrade it to 32GB yourself.

    • If the cost is same 1*16GB is better due to upgradable to 32GB.

    • Dual channel is faster, especially if you are going to use the integrated graphics for intensive tasks.

  • +1

This CPU has a particularly crappy iGPU. Don't get this if you want to play a game on it.

  • Looks like the price has been updated.

  • Has the price gone up? can't get it at that price comes to 1,747 now before cashback

  • Looks like price has gone up

  • Had the laptop in my cart at the original price but cart got refreshed when I went to pay. Got in touch with sales but they were not helpful.

  • What's better? i5-11500H or Intel i5-1135G7

And how does it compare to the Dell Latitude 3420?

    https://www.dell.com/en-au/work/shop/business-laptops-ultrab…

    • 11500H is a 45W "mobile workstation" part.
      1135G7 is a 15W "ultrabook" part.

The H part has more cores and a higher turbo, it will also be able to sustain higher speeds for longer.

The H part has a crappy iGPU because they will normally be paired with a dGPU. So in this case the ultrabook will actually be better at playing games.

      • Yeh that just adds more confusion

45w means its more powerful right? So 11500H will be a much better laptop?

        • Yes, the CPU will be more powerful.

Also, in general, a 5xxx model is going to be better build quality than a 3xxx model.
