Will you try Dominos Vegemite Pizza?

Will you try Vegemite Pizza? I think it'll be too salty but Anchovies work on Pizza so I'm willing to give it a go
It's $7.95 so costs more than $5 Value Pizza :(

Last week, VEGEMITE appointed a new ambassador, Giovanni from Rosa’s Pizza in New York, who has added the iconic taste of Australia to his menu.
It’s only fitting that we return Australia’s favourite flavour to the heartland and ensure everyone can share in the joy of this perfect pairing 💛 + 🍕

Maybe if it was a $5 value pizza. No way at $7.95

    • +1

Not worth $7.95 its a bit of hype price. Ingredients should cost way less its just cheese and vegemite

      • +1

$2.95 extra is believed to be due of the royalties Domino's has to pay Bega to use the Vegemite brand. More discussion on the deal post

  • Will dominos actually put Vegemite on it? Or will it be one squirt from a measured cup?

    • The video shows one long swirl of vegemite from squeeze bottle in a ring and cheese.

    • +1

It is a 25g swirl from the bottle (40g for vegan version).

      • Why the extra on the vegan version?

        • Probably to make up for the cheese.

          • +1

@Krankite: Adding extra Vegemite to counter less cheese sounds like a bad idea.

        • Not sure, but both have the same amount of cheese.

          Vegan: 40g Vegemite, 140g Mozzarella
          Non-vegan: 25g Vegemite, 140g Mozzarella

Can I just put my own vegemite on a cheese pizza?

    • +4

Yes probably a good lifehack to save $2.95

    • Why would you?

  • +1

Don't know why the squeeze bottle version is being used, the texture isn't right. Real vegemite OG's prefer the original.

    • Probably easier to swirl for the pizza and portion and put it on

    • +5

Yep exactly. And if you add your own you can choose what you add (and more importantly how much you add). I like my Vegemite toast completely black to match my heart.

  • It is still a polarising flavour.

    VEGEMITE appointed a new ambassador

If something was really that good, it doesn't need someone to promote it.

I tried one. It was good! But the flavour is too intense to eat a whole pizza.

    • Thanks for the review!

Why are people are acting like wow I never thought of this before. Thing is it isn't even a new idea. Pizza Capers September 18 2018 https://www.facebook.com/PizzaCapers/posts/vegemite-and-chee… I'm sure it existed before that as well. lol

Does it work in practice? yes. Will I be rushing out and buying it now? no. The price is the wrong part. I may as well make 6 slices of tiger toast it's a lot cheaper. :)

    OzB group buy?

  • My 12 YO wants to try it and we almost got it last night until I realised it costs $7.95 for some cheese and Vegemite. I could probably make one myself next time I prepare our naan.

  • It is just hype, and an overpriced pizza. Nothing new to see here.

Having said that, using Vegemite in cooking is similarly not a new thing. Add some to a bolognese, or other types of similar dishes, and it provides a umami boost.

    This sounds vile..
I like vegemite… but some things never deserve to go near a pizza…

  • I prefer 'Dominos with an e' pizza

    • Or at least a Domino's (with the punctuation mark) as per the business trading name.

    • Do you watch Garn?

      • I knew someone would get the reference

  • I tried it. I don't know why. Was exactly how I imagined. No ingenuity or recipe. Just slapping Vegemite and cheese.

  • Not really a fan of OG Vegemite but Cheesybite + cheese toasties are noice!

  • Yes I will try it,

by buying a 4.95 cheese pizza and applying veggie mite at home.

So absolutely, the question is? Will Dominos make money from it at $7.95.

    Probably not.
