Seems like Sony has additional stock of refurbished TVs. I can’t speak to the quality but in previous posts it was stated that these seconds/refurbished products simply had damaged packaging.

Rubbish old model second hand and still pricey. Never buy seconds always buy new when it comes to tech unless they were super cheap.

  • $1495 for 65-inch X9000H is a steal!

  • Was that an oxymoron

Edit: I was referring to Mustapha's comment

LoL "seconds" Sony or any decent company would NEVER let a less than perfect item out of it's factory.

Calling this for what it is, a DOA repair and/or a customer change of mind return

    "Seconds'' LOL

That’s what seconds means, fella. Someone else had it and now it’s up for sale.

      • In a time long long ago, a single named Brittany spears had hair.

Seconds meant new with factory blemish

        Wonky plastic frame
        Miscolored casing
        Dead pixel
        Forgot to install tv receiver
Packed into the wrong box etc

The products were still usable but the manufacturing phase had unintended accident leading to cosmetically different looking results.

But manufacturing phase is so automated and efficient these days it seems so rare to see seconds

But seconds does not mean secondhand or refurbished

  • Stay away, mine is unusable after an Android update 2 days back. Remote stopped working and this is known problem.

Why would you connect your TV to the internet in the current year anyway?

      • Is that sarcasm?

        • Not at all.

        • More a comment about manufacturer’s commitment to updates (or lack there of) and you’re better off just chucking in a fire stick or CCwGTV.

          • @tomsco: Still defeats the purpose of having an android tv and integration. Would have expected more as the Tv in question is just over 2 yrs old.

Of definitely, but to be fair… are there many bigger name TVs being released these days without android TV (genuine question as I'm not in the market at the moment)?

Currently our TVs are 4 years old and 10 years old. The 10 year old TV isn't Smart, and while the 4 year old TV is, it's slow and buggy and I don't even bother to use it.

While I don't think integrated android TV is bad per se, now that I am in the habit of using dongles, I'm happy to just continue doing that - especially with the added bonus of just being able to pull it out and take with you.

              • @tomsco: I have pretty much the same set up, new (relatively) and old tvs. The new CC is amazing and has really given a second life to the older tvs. If dongle was the solution in the first place, then I wouldn’t have bothered going with Sony as I could have achieved that with Samsung/ LG/ Hisense who all have their own proprietary OS. Sony’s woes with Android have been long going and they really have failed to address the basic functionality issues. Also I noticed their warranty is limited to 1 year on tvs, not sure if this was always the case or changed recently.

      • Great solution to the problem!

  • What's going on, DJ had the KD75X9400E for $1500, is the above price correct?

Is the listing on DJ’s correct? I can’t add it to cart.

The word is 'HAD', check your English, there are plenty of English classes around. Why would you pay $4000 for a superseded item that was selling for $1500? Obviously, there is a funny joker that would pretend to take a price at its face value.

  • How are you guys seeing $1121.25 for the 65"?

    • By clicking the Go to Deal button 🤔
It's the KD65X8000G model that is that price

      • lol, I bypassed the main link and went straight to the pasted links //facepalm

  • Are the seconds refurbished or brand new/box damaged? I know Sony have history of selling brand new items labelling as seconds, box damaged etc. Is there any way to confirm?
