this is exactly what I need for my iMac 5K
Yeah this is a great deal for an iMac upgrade. FYI if you’ve got the standard 2x 4GB modules you’ll have to remove them to get the full speed the iMac is capable of (2666mhz) otherwise they’ll run at 2133mhz.
Yeah, I simply put 4x32 make it 128GB, feel so good.
FWIW it seems these can run natively at 3200 without XMP: https://community.frame.work/t/memory-support-specs/2277/35
So annoying that many notebooks come with only 1 socket these days.
I have a Thinkpad with 16GB which is enough for now, but if i wanted to upgrade to extend the machines life in a few years i can't without breaking the matching of size of the soldered and socketed ram.
If they're going to have 1 socket, they might as well have a second.Sucks that everyone is so obsessed with having the thinnest possible device.
Lenovo still make thiccc laptops. You just picked (or had picked for you) a thin one.
Goddamn it, for once there's a 64Gb deal, but it's SODIMM, not DIMM. >:[
