Considering Switching to Woolworths Mobile - Experiences?

I'm currently on a Telstra 40GB sim-only plan ($55 p/m with $10 discount until early next year), and am considering switching to the WW 20GB $25 p/m plan when Telstra's monthly discount concludes.

Considerations are:

  • Contract (no contract)
  • Coverage (Telstra wholesale, but have checked coverage map and I think I can live with the coverage vs. Telstra's)
  • Data (Don't generally chew through 20GB p/m, although even if I do there's no automatic/additional charges when it runs out, plus the WW plan has data banking up to 300GB)
  • Invoices (for tax purposes)
  • Advantages over Telstra (10% off one shop every month, referral rewards if I decide to recommend to friends/family)

Is anyone on a WW plan that can share their experience?
Does the WW Mobile android app have the ability to track used data at regular intervals? and if so, is there a widget?

TIA

    Yes. There is a widget.

Also when you exhaust your data limit, you have to purchase data block manually. No bill shock

    YMMV for coverage and reception.

Been using for 18 months. Started because it has the lowest monthly mobile plan to go with a phone.

    • Data gifting is enabled. You can buy a new 30 day plan, sometimes free after cashback. Gift half data to main number and use the other half in 30 days.

  • you don't get the referral bonus, or discount on your shop - but Aldi mobile has continuous unused data rollover (no limit?) and operates on the Telstra 4G network. Details via their app

    Monthly contracts, too.

    achew
    'scuse me

  • If you want same full network as Telstra, then Boost.

    • I did check out Boost, but theirs are 28 day plans (vs. WW p/m), and no invoices thumbs down

      • Yearly plan is pretty good. $200 usually on sale for $154.

        • @hawkeye93
is the yearly plan sale ($154) only for starter pack/new customer?

          • @ATTS: Yeah. So if you're existing customer, 2 choices:
            1) port out then port in again
            2) Ask support team via chat to transfer your current number to the sim.

            • @hawkeye93: cool thanks

I think i will take option 2 when my plan expires next year

so just to confirm = , speak to chat, get them to transfer my current number to new sim and then remove old sim and put new sim in and i can use my number like normal?

10% off one weekly shop of ours @ $300 means the mobile has paid for itself twice over on our $15 plan.

No issues with coverage, but we don't travel much to test this so YMMV

Wife and older kids have been using for about 5 years. I’m with Telstra thru work. Only noticeable difference is Woolworths is cheaper (and get 10% of groceries once per month).

  • International call pack only $5 a month too, Cant send intl sms without this though.

I think Woolies Mobile is good. I had WW and Telstra as dual SIMs in my Note 10+ before. My default for 4G was Telstra but there were times when my connection would slow down/stall, I would switch to WW and it would work. Never made sense to me as they are the same network but there you go. The 10% off the shop was a bonus

I'm very happy with Aldi mobile (same Telstra wholesale network, far superior to Optus that we used to use) and data banking seems to be unlimited, we currently have 305GB. We're on the $80 per month family plan which is excellent value.

We already get the Woolworths 10% thing through having their credit card, but if you don't have that and get your groceries there then their plans look good.

been fine no issues for about 12 months
moved my wife onto it as well so we get another 10% discount at woolies

We both have 4G phones though and live in Sydney metro with no issues so far
