    • No, they are free on Amazon

    • You need to press "buy now for free" and not "read now"

I would stop horsing around and read the books.

The author is the king of chess books.
If there was a hard copy id store it in my castle

The pawns of puns have arrived, as expected.

  • I got all books, still a good deal

  • +2

    • +1

It's Okay, just need to know the Queen's Gambit.

  • +4

  • this or chess.com subscription?

    • +1

      Lichess

    • Chess.com subscription is awesome
I started with no chess experience in March and I’m pretty good now

    • You can join chess dot com without paying money.

Although you don’t get much in the way for learning resources there for $0.

  • I'll check it out

  • +1

Can’t believe all the links I clicked on showed I have already purchased this. Haha

  • anyone actually read these or just download cause its free

    • you'd read if you have an interest on the game or suggest it to youngesters who are still learning the game. we used to learn from paperbacks 20 years ago, sigh!

    • My kid wants to learn and I’m absolutely atrocious. Figure if I read a bit I might actually be able to help him.

  • +2

I don't know what's stranger… the fact that I read the title as "Cheese: the ultimate guide for beginners", or that I was thrilled to find a book for beginning with cheese.

  • You can say horses instead of knights, castles instead of rooks, hell you can even say chest instead of chess. Just stop saying prawns!

  • +2

Is it like every other chess book for beginners?

Chapter 1: Chess is played on a board of 64 squares, alternating black and white. This is the king, the queen, the bishop, the knight, the rook, and the pawn. They move like this.

Chapter 2: The Steinitz Variation in the Caro-Kann Defence - can it reduce IQPs arising from the Panov–Botvinnik Attack?

  • Time to make my move…
