  • cheap for some genuine cherries.

    • +2

Genuine Cherry switches aren't all that good anymore.

      • Quality drop or others got better?

        • Lots of new alternatives offering more variety and value.
Cherry actually retooled a few years ago which supposedly made a big improvement, but at this point they're stuck with the mainstream/newbie reputation.

          • @jp1011: sounds about right, just the curse of being the mainstream/baseline and everything else simply has to be marginally different/better than cherries and they can't go wrong.

Man, 10 years ago, 5 million clicks are considered a feature of mechanical cherries switches but now that's like a joke cherry still uses it as a feature.

Heh, now the custom community want their tactiles/linears FEEL down to the gram lol.

        • As jp1011 said, many many better alternatives that are not only cheaper, but smoother. Gateron is a good example of this, and their switches are quite popular amongst the custom mech community.

Just remember $20+ for shipping (not express) so expect to receive your order 2-3 weeks after purchasing. I’m still waiting for my order 2 weeks ago.

    • +1

$27 shipping to Perth metro area. Jeez.

  • Nice. Was on the fence when it was $89.
    This sealed the deal.
Free pickup from Sydney, and paid by Afterpay so no 1% surcharge for me!

  • Would like to try out. But $20 shipping makes it no deal to me. Wish there is a free shipping code. Lol

Why did someone saw it in half

    • +1

      Because ergonomics

  • +3

I have one, I use it for work! Great, just wish it had a separate num pad so it's more ergonomic

  • it is a rebadged Cloud Nine C989

The C989 goes for around $170USD

Many people seem to have a misguided, vague understanding that retailers are making 5% to 30% markup.

  • Anyone else want the 21" separation cable? If we work together it'll negate the $46usd postage cost

  • Do Macros and RGB settings work on Mac?

    • Does it come with software? Many gaming keyboards come with software to control lighting and macros, even the smaller brands. If so, it should be fine as long as the software is supported on Mac obviously.

    • +2

Doesn't look like as per this link but you can control the lighting from the keyboard as per this link. This is a rebadged Cloud Nine C989 as per Op and the link in his posts points to successful firmware flashing.
