The 2000 has a much Li-Ion battery- $50 is a bargain.
The 800 is Ni-MH
If the main difference is the battery, the 1500 is on sale 50% off at woolies for 65 and has a lithium ion battery.
How does the Pro 800 compare with:
the Pro 3000 at $79? https://www.shavershop.com.au/oral-b/pro-3000-electric-tooth…
AND
the Pro 1500 at $65? https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/143880/ora…Pro 1500 is Li-Ion battery, the Pro 2000 and 3000 also Li-Ion and incrementally better, i.e. I wouldn't pay more for them.
The Pro-2000 for $50 was an excellent deal.
@JimB: Cheers mate, found Hardly Normal has the Pro 2000 going at $58 : https://www.harveynorman.com.au/oral-b-cross-action-pro-2-20…
Some other Oral B brushes are also half priced…
eg. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/376687/ora…What do people do after the battery stops charging? Buy a new one or try replacing the battery?
Just buy a new one.
In that case better to go for the cheapest option.
No, the cheapest ones have the worse batteries.. Pay a bit extra for the ones with Li-Ion batteries and it should last longer. Plus you'll also get the benefit of longer time before needing to charge.
It's so bad for the environment to just throw it out buy how else will Oral b/Braun make money if people can simply replace the battery?
My Pro 500 battery only lasts a few days now, so I just keep it on the charger permanently.
It doesn't feel much weaker than the new Pro 2000 I purchased for my kids, so will continue using the Pro 500 until it stops or feels weak (on a full charge).

I have one as well and the battery is nearly dead… I watched some videos on youtube showing how to replace the battery. I will give it a try and see if I can salvage it.
TerraCycle has a service where you can return old (e.g.) Oral-B electric brush handles and heads for recycling to your local post office. Just print a label (or ask your post office to print it):
https://www.terracycle.com/en-AU/brigades/colgateelectric-auThanks.. will definitely do that rather than throwing the heads and handles in landfill.
Cheers for the tip.
Do the brushing manually while humming.
I do like Woolies great advice on how to use this device:
Directions
Brush your teeth at least twice a day.Thank you Woolies!
You'll be surprised how many people don't.
Oral-B Pro 800 $50
How many years experience do you need brushing teeth before you can use the Pro ?
They do say it’s the worlds oldest profession!
Wait I’ve read that wrong
If these are made in Germany like the 3000 then definitely worth it. Have a feeling its not though!
Can confirm made in Germany. Just bought from woollies
How does this compare to the previous 2000 model deal?
