I have 2. They work well..

Though got then during an older Amazon sale when they were like $100..

  • Got one of these and I'm really happy with it.
Way more sturdy than I thought it would be. The clamps are really useful.
Probably not for the full on wood worker but has been really handy over the lockdowns for little-ish DIY jobs.

It is regularly sold at around $106… Tempted but will wait a bit more…

    • +1

Regularly? Hasn't been posted here.. In about a year iirc

    • +2

I have been watching this since missed the Prime lightning deal
Hasn't been less than $150 since then (Other than a very short time of $135)

  • +2

Really happy with mine, for it last year for 100 during primer day, hoping to get another at this year's prime event

  • Anyone compared this to the Ryobi one before or has experience with the Ryobi one?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-folding-table-with-two-cla…

    • +1

The Roybi one used to be $99, then raised to $129 and now $149

      • Looks good from the video

    • +1

I know someone with the Ryobi one, it packs actually flat, so great for when you're taking it to some site for working, it wont take up any unnecessary space in the car. This worx one doesnt look like it does that, so if mobility is important, I'd probably pick up the Ryobi one.

      • Looks like it does

        • Hm so it does. In any case, its not as neat or tight a package as the Ryobi.

    • +1

I'm using the Ryobi and I love it. Setting up and packing is easy. However it is slightly heavy

      • The worx is very heavy imho

    • A comparison, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCHYdhlipLg

Finally bought the Worx after watching, missed last yr deal but don't think it will be around $100 again.

  • I'm a total woodworking noob - could this serve as a mitre saw bench?

    • Depends if you want it to put the saw on top (this will work fine), or if you want it to support the end of your timber away from the cut (gets tricky, but could possibly work).

    • It'll do, but it'll be rather average. I have no idea when (or if) Aldi will ever get one of these mitre saw tables back, but I have one and it's fantastic compared to a basic table. http://offers.kd2.org/en/au/aldi/pdAFl/

      • I got one of these when they were clearing them out at my store for $20 hehe. Even then I don't always use it. Mostly if I want to set it up in the backyard on the grass (with some pavers).

It's kind of like this table deal; if you don't actually need portability you're better off building your own bench (whether it's a workbench or mitre saw station).

  • Thanks, just in time, I ordered

  • +2

Buy before its OOS, Don't hold your breath for Pre-Covid prices, it may never come back again.

    • Bought.. You just got Amazon a sale..

  • +1

I’m going to be more handy now.

  • Just a note…13.6kg!!! Not light.

  • +1

Got one, at this rate I’ll be single handily sending Pappa bezos back to bloody space!!!

  • +5

I use one of these ladders as a workbench, love it Bunnings.

    • Actually this is a very good idea, thanks mate!

    • +3

I use the jobsite table made from a pair of sawhorses, two pieces of 45x90 timber, and a 26mm thick hardwood panel. The total cost is around $300, but it's a big, solid, sturdy table that makes work more enjoyable.

      • +1

        Yes these sawhorses are excellent

        • Crazy they sell one or two of them for the same price.

          • @Abaddon: the single packs are rated for higher load

they are the C700 (590kg capacity), v the twin pack which is C500 (500kg capacity)

Side by side the C700 are much more solidly built, but I have the c500 twin pack and its fine for my home usage.

    • I’ve used two of these and an ikea footstool as a ladder before. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it.

    • I use those all the time. I needed a router table at one point and drilled three holes (two for the bolts, one for the bit) through the platform, clamped on a bit of timber for the fence and got a perfectly serviceable router table in a few minutes. Had a couple of them for years, they handle a lot of abuse.

  • Are people buying these just to use away from home?

    • +1

I rent, so a small setup like this is ideal. If I owned a place I would build my own bench.

  • How are the wood prices..

    • +2

      I woodnt have a clue

  • +3

I just use milk crates, dont need a fancy table….

    • Not to be all goody two-shoes but milk crate theft is a legit problem all around the world. I know it sounds like a victimless crime but it costs the dairy industry millions per year, probably not a good thing to promote.

      • -1

As compared to the losses from $1/L milk?

If they bumped up prices they'd easily cover any shortfall.

Hell, make the crates a saleable commodity -I'd buy heaps for storage! There's nothing else equivalent on the market

      • Perhaps if they did something about milk crate littering people would care more. The crates I have were all pulled out of undergrowth, rivers or just randomly left somewhere. If it's costing them (the dairies, not the farmers) so much then instigate something like the shopping trolley collection schemes or place a $5 deposit on them. That way they'd get returned either by businesses or finders.

        • -1

the easiest way is just return the crate to your nearest colesworth

  • They won't deliver to my address in Central Queensland, unfortunately.

    • Same problem in northern WA. I tried street address, a PO Box, and another nearby postcode, but no go. First time I've been discriminated against for my town's location by Amazon - disappointing.

      • Same here lads, never mind.

      • SOR v NOR debate finally settled as Amazon chooses SOR as the penultimate winner! Have no problem shipping south side ;) Suck it NOR :P
If you want to have one delivered to mine and pick it up in Wilson, you're more than welcome and i'll happily store for the price of a 6pack per week ;)

    • The price is back to its usual $189. The region restriction has gone.

It looks like we're locked out from purchasing only during the sale.

  • +5

Compare to B&D 425 - not normally sold in Australia for some stupid reason, we get the highly inferior 536

I know which one is clearly more versatile, much better built (durable and will last longer) and is in fact repairable and reconfigurable.

I have some of the 30+ years old original workmate sawhorses with clamps, still going strong despite being stored outside because they're made of good steel and well designed.

Sorry this is a bit OT, but wanted to point out there is better made, just not being made available to Aussies yet again.

    • Yep, i have no idea why people on OzB get so worked up in to a frenzy about the cheap flimsy stand in this deal.

      • Because most on OzB aren't smart enough to understand the concept of "quality," just "cheaper."

        • Your hardy, seasoned home improvers would probably invest in something more solid, permanent and pricey.

For those casuals, who do projects few and far between the cost-benefit ratio is probably fine here, and the alternative would likely end up being a makeshift dangerous setup at home. This is a relatively cheap, and safer option, than working off crates etc.

  • Has this expired? Cheapest I can see it for in Amazon is almost $450!!
