  • Is this the solution to my S21 not having a headphone jack to listen to spotify in the car?……Or just get a 3.5mm to USB-C cable.

    • -1

This is a solution for people with old phones that still have a headphone jack, their car is old enough it doesn’t have Bluetooth, but new enough it has USB.

      Very specific niche.

      • +1

It appears the USB port is used to power the device (was looking for a battery). I'd like a shorter cord version

        Me!

Will wait for ozb to prove it's not a fake deal. Then I will buy.

      • +1

My dash cam has a spare USB port on it, my car has an 3.5mm input, but no Bluetooth. This thing seems to line up perfectly with my niche

      • +3

Not correct. This is for people with older cars without Bluetooth to connect to their phones wirelessly.

3.5mm is for the AUX input, USB is to power it up via USB port or USB car charger.

        • +1

This is the correct answer. One end goes in the car’s aux and one end goes in the car’s USB port/one of those USB cigarette lighter things. It acts as a Bluetooth dongle basically, for old cars that don’t have Bluetooth connectivity but you want to play your music from your phone wirelessly.

      • Or hear me out, assuming that if you have a phone in the car you probably have a USB 12V charger at least, and the 3.5mm headphone jack plugs into the car's AUX, which is why the device has bluetooth….

  • +7

Might come up cheaper at some stage, but I've been using this for a few years and it's perfect for my use. Car has a USB port that can't interface with anything to save itself, and a 3.5mm jack, but no Bluetooth.
The thing that has worked best about this unit is that there is absolutely nothing that can go wrong with it. No buttons to connect, nothing you need to select. Connects every time, works every time. I've had trouble with units that try to do more and fail or are fiddly. Google Assistant is sufficient to control playing so this is perfect for me.

This one doesn’t have the buttons to control things like picking up calls, next song/previous song, etc. as far as I can tell. There are some products in the market that have these functions, but it’s a hit or miss with a lot of them.

Jeez careful with the website, its clunky AF and i was just clicking around and managed to order this and they were then emailing me asking for my money. Didnt even realised I'd completed checkout.

Rep, what is the difference between

    Choose colour:
    * Black
    * Black (in stock)

    ?

    • Hi jv. It's the same for two choices.

      • +1

        thanks.

Do you know if this can pair with more than one phone automatically, so if different drivers are using the car, they don't need to keep switching to connect?

        • hi, it can only connect to one phone automatically.

  • After applying code, it shows

    AUD$13.95

    • +1

hi jv, when you put the code in cart, you should click "Adjust final total", then the total mount will deduct the code.

This website sucks, I can't enter my street number without it telling me there are illegal characters in the address (it's all alphanumeric only) and the website crashed when attempting to sign up for an account, preventing me from activating my account.

    • +1

there are illegal characters in the address

      Which law do they break?

  • have 3 of the same unit.
works very well, few things to note

1, the cord cant be removed, means only male out.
2, it only draws very little power, so a lot of power banks won't work.

    • I don't get number 2. Little power should be better?

  • Package: Yes

Seems to be some confusion in the comments.

USB plugs into a power source in your car. The 3.5mm jack goes into your stereo where you select your AUX mode. Finally you connect your phone to the device via bluetooth.

Bought one of these not long ago on ebay for about $12. The sound quality is great through a standard sound system streaming from spotify. Call quality is not the best but acceptable. People will understand you and you will be able to communicate easily, just dont expect to have a 1hr chat with someone, as it can be a little strenuous for the other party to understand you.
