Global release of the new Xiaomi 11T Pro flagship phone absolutely packed with features. I recommend checking out the review at Techtablets and the Camera review. Before anyone asks, yes it has proper Widevine L1 so Netflix will be in FHD with crisp sound thanks to Harmon Kardon speakers and Dolby Atmos.

Features include MIUI 12.5 (Android 11), 6.67" 2400x1080 120Hz 1000nit AMOLED Display with Gorilla Glass Victus, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 CPU, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB UFS 3.1 storage, NFC, 5000mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge, dual SIM with 5G/4G (incl. B28), 108MP/8MP/5MP rear cameras, 16MP front camera and a fingerprint reader.

There's also an 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB version on sale with multiple colours available.

  • saw mi 11 pro for around $860, think that got better camera

  • Why not get the Mi 11i for cheaper from same store? Apart from no 120W charging, pretty similar.

I prefer Samsung s21 plus at this price anytime than this Chinese electronic junk. After sales service alone enough to convince me. Not encouraging Chinese dynasty ( after what they done in Hong Kong) is a bonus.

    • Isn't that curved screen, no IR trash? I ditched Samsung on the Note 5 and haven't looked back. They're not loyal to enthusiasts.

    Iphone 13 - peace of mind :)

    But a tab more expensive…

    • +1

In what browser is that tab?

      • hahaha… it's gonna cost $$$$ to get that Safari yo

    • Not if you hate iOS

Way too expensive for this. The camera is very average and while the hardware is ok it's not overwhelmingly better then stuff out there.

I would look at s21 as they will either be similar prices soon or already a super cheap with trade in offers(hint you don't need to hand in your phone and you still keep the Samsung extra $500 so can "trade in" damaged phones or friends one)

Otherwise I would look at the 11i, realme master edition or even the OnePlus Nord 2 as alternatives. Less powerful but not going to be noticeable for most and either same or better cameras in general.

Or just get the Poco F3. Unbeatable for under 500.

Are people up voting for the phone or the price?

What is the rrp? Price seems a bit high for a Xiaomi phone. Wife has a 10T pro and I have the Poco F2 pro, paid around $600.

    Both fantastic phones.

I would expect these to drop in price in a few months.

Killer specs on a phone though.

    • Going to mi.com and clicking Buy Now takes you to that AliExpress listing. The RRP is US$599 ex GST and US$658.90 inc GST on AliExpress.

If Xiaomi Australia decide to sell it I'm sure the price will be much higher, but you'll get local warranty then at least.

  • I've been looking for an upgrade from my Pixel 3XL and this falls just a bit over my budget. Should I just hold out for new releases and hope that s21 ultra drops further instead?

    • +1

In my opinion, if you are going to spend more than $500 on a phone, it's probably best if you purchased one with warranty, for peace of mind. If this doesn't matter to you, Xiaomi devices (priced well) offer great bang for the buck. There's also the software side of things to consider. MIUI is not for everyone.

If $836 is outside your prince range, there is no point waiting for the S21 ultra… It'll never be this price.

  • Great specs. Thanks OP!

  • +1

$836 is cheap compared to its list price, but not cheap for what you get. IMO, this isn't one of the better valued Xiaomi offerings especially with no OIS on that camera. The RN10P (which uses the same main camera) is less than half the price & really, other than the SD732 v SD888 5G & charging speeds, there isn't a lot of difference. Another good option if you want brute power, at half the price of this phone, is the Poco F3 which uses the SD870 5G and arguably slightly inferior Sony camera sensor.

    • Best bang for buck phone in 2021 - Poco F3.

  • rootable? magisk?

FYI in malaysia LAZADA the official price for the 8/256 is 2099 MYR or ~$500 US… which means the price will go even lower than the $599.

  • So can you get rid of the ads in the UI? That sounds annoying.

    • When you first boot up the phone make sure you disagree to experience programs and personalised ads. For the MIUI apps like Mi Browser you can go into the settings and turn off ads for each app. You can also block an app called MSA.

There are ways to remove the MIUI apps and MSA from the phone using a computer an adb.

  • Doing the reading, I'm pretty annoyed a bout the lack of OIS on this phone, it seems a real shortcoming. I can compromise on a few things but why would they gimp the camera so much?
