Hi all!
I am trying to get a massage gun for my wife's birthday. I have read many posts, but is there any article which could help to make the right choice? I'm worried in getting an "expensive" one, which is as good as any of the cheap ebay models.
Thank you so much for your help!!
How to Select a Massage Gun?
Comments
dont be like me:
1st bought $40ish, then bought $ 120, then at the end get $250 theragun (down from $400). the first two are rubbish compared with the third. regretted wasted 40+120Thank you for the advice! I might just the the theragun if that's the case
May I ask what the deficiencies of the $40 and $120 ones were? I'm getting conflicting feedback about them.
they dont hit you hard enough
more like a vibrator opposed to percussion therapy
essentially, they offer no benefit….sure it might feel kind of good for something to vibrate on your aching quads, but it won't help much (if at all) with recovery. I also bought a theragun from Kogan..they had it on clearance. I've used crappy 90+$ homedics massage guns…no where near as goodThanks for the first hand input. Much appreciated.
I bought the $89 massage gun from Aldi about a month ago. I have had a serious shoulder issue (couldn't do up my bra, brush my hair or hang laundry) for about 12 months, caused by poor ergonomics working from home. Had Physio and Chiro sessions but nothing they did made a difference. However, a few sessions with the massage gun on my shoulder has meant I can now dress myself again!
It is heavy though, and awkward to use on the shoulders.
I bought the Aldom brand one from Amazon $100. Does the job and I like it.
Very little evidence these guns really do anything apart from make you feel good at the time of massage. But as long as you buy one knowing it's not a magic pill then go for it.
I'm sure the real high end are indeed better but no way I'm forking out $800 for a premium one
