must boycott target as they blocked my account with no reason.
maybe you were targeted?
The only company which doesn't want revenue
Did you sign up for the newsletter to get the $10 off bonus, multiple times?
Finally pulled the trigger after all these years. I have absolutely no idea where I'll put such a set but screw it I've always wanted it.
Time to get that home extension you’ve wanted all these years too!
Makes for some expensive Lego!
It's not full price it's 20% off (yes it has been cheaper on occasion) and lol if you think this will hit 60% off once news of its retirement hits they will be all snapped up and be going on eBay for 3-4 grand like the first gen one.
No Chance, Lego resellers days are numbered. They just made too many sets look at the figures
I will be selling mine, it is still in box, unmade.
@shoppe: Why is that shoppe ? No room for it ? Not interested Anymore ? Bought to resell & try to make a profit ?
50-60% will never come for this set to many star wars fans
Yeah sure, like Bitcoin would never be $50,000+
This thing aint retiring till at least 31 Dec 2023 so 50-60% off will come if you Numskulls STOP buying it for full price
You're the numbskull. The historical lowest discount for this set was 37% off RRP back in 2019 ($831.97) and that's as low as the price will drop in Australia until it retires. Read this post then be quiet.
If you think Lego pricing actually takes into account the regional sales volume in country like Australia (which is one of their smallest markets) you're dreaming.
Flagship UCS Star Wars sets are never discounted by more than 37% off RRP during their production runs (even 30% off is rare) and that's been a rule you can bank on for about 20 years now. 50-60% off any in-production sets is only possible for smaller sets from original themes like City, Duplo, Friends or Creator 3-in-1.
Triggered :P, thats the problem with you people you dont say jack & pay whatever they like.
My Opinion on this set is they have over commited & made too many sets
Being the smallest market gives us the upper hand when it comes to what we will or will not pay
& they cant do a thing about it as they are commited to stock us.You sound like a Tobacco lobbyist saying nicotine is not addictive looking back on historical discounts.
Ofcourse, its never going to be discounted 50-60% off when you are all buying it at 30% or lower
Where are you getting that they have made too many? Is there reports of this anywhere other the "trust me"?
Every retailer has currently sold out and they continue to go out of stock not long after they appear. The price of the set is steep, but inline with other licenced lego sets in terms of pieces & complexity. There isn't another set like it. It sells out all the time, demand is no issue. I do think a $999 rrp would have been the sweet spot for this set, hence why I would probably not bought at $1299.
Saying this is destined to be a bargain bin item as long as everyone stops buying its a stupid argument because ofcouse if no one bought it, it would be discounted and discontinued. But it isn't the case.
@Burnzie86: You are all thick as bricks, exactly why it keeps on lingering cause you keep on buying it at whatever price they want to sell it at. So consumer demand is exactly the issue
I'm not going to educate you on why they have way too much stock (Clue Limit 5), but as you said NO BUY discounted/discontinued & you have a collectors set at 50-60% off. Not a set that has sold a Quintillion units
And, ofcourse this is a 1k rrp set & that 30% markup is exactly where everyone should have spotted the scam & hodl their cash, but they didnt and this lingering for years is what happens with the massive amount of stock they have at hand.
My Opinion on this set is they have over commited & made too many sets
Wow, I'm convinced.
Your opinion is worthless.
Lego as a product and as a market has had certain hard-and-fast rules regulating things like pricing over set lifetime, production run lengths and re-release cycles for a long time now. It's about as well-regulated as derivatives trading in blue chip stocks now.
You just absolutely have no clue what you're talking about.
You sound like a Tobacco lobbyist saying nicotine is not addictive looking back on historical discounts.
Lol, wtf are you on about?
Ofcourse, its never going to be discounted 50-60% off when you are all buying it at 30% or lower
Ah yes, I remember when petrol prices plummeted to the point of being free because everyone was buying so much of it when petrol was priced around a $1 dollar per litre… /s
@Miami Mall Alien: Im not here 2 convince you of anything especially with that user name im sure you would believe anything they told you. Fairies are real loooool
Look… the point is the set is way overpriced & they did it on purpose so suckers like you can think your getting a great deal on 30% off. Simple as that
Oh boy - I just purchased the Star Destroyer thinking I could never get this bad boy (Reasonably priced).. Feels bad man
insert old el paso girl here
over $1k for a lego set. wow!!!!
Yeah it's an absolute beast. Size of a small-med coffee table. But for lego/starwars fans it's probably considered the GOAT set.
I haven't seen starwars or star trek.
That's fair enough, you aren't the target market for this set.
no stock at all.
Yeah looks like it's done, online only so no stores had them.
I've still haven't started on Hogwarts Castle - I must resist the urge to buy this
