Ordering through Woolies Online - Half The Total Shop Has Incorrect Pricing

I placed an order today with Woolies online during my lunch break only to find out that half the products from the catalogue I purchased, didn't actually update the special pricing when checking out. So I've overpaid.

I've understood once you go pick up the items, you can then ask for a full refund of the products..is that correct? Or should I just try call tonight (wait times on phone is 30+min) and try get the difference credited? Any thoughts or feedback appreciated

Call them and see what your options are.

Seems odd that it's half the things you bought. You sure it was the current catalogue?

Maybe OP only bought two items! haha

    • Checked twice before posting, some items are definitely over the special advertised price in the catalogue. Checked the postcode and everything, found it to be bizarre.

      • They did have a bork up two Mondays ago where they overcharged, but they sent me an email and promised to refund the $1 when they could :)

I've also found that even though the catalogue pricing is meant to kick in at 12 midnight on the Wednesday, it takes a few hours to propagate through all the items, but if it was during your lunch break you should have been OK.

Have put items in cart on numerous occasions a few days prior to the Wednesday-start-of-catalogue day and the prices are usually updated by 8am (not 12am-1am, though).

  • ask for refund then buy at coles

New catalogue commences on the Wednesday each week. Is the one you double checked valid from today to next Tuesday?

It doesn't provide the ability to shop from the catalogue once the change of week occurs. (Or what I could see)

I'm just interested whether the products are free for overpayment/incorrect price.

If the catalogue expired on Tuesday, and you ordered the items on Wednesday, then obviously the price would have gone back up.

Links to the product with different prices?

        Products wont be free.

The 'free' products for overpriced items is based on the scanning code of practice. It was introduced when supermarkets moved away from putting a price sticker on each product and introduced bar codes.

Does not apply to online shopping.

  • same happended to me a few weeks ago, but i added items to the cart before wednesday, some items updated some did not after wednesday

  • You weren't overcharged. You were charged the price the items were on the day you placed the order.

    • I placed an order today with Woolies

Thought OP did today. I'm just not sure which catalogue the pricing is from. Woolies have made mistakes before

    • This. special changeover is on Wednesday mate, make sure you actually place the order before the changeover happens to get the items for the price you want.

Not this at all. Did you read the post mate? 15th was yesterday (Wednesday)

Ended up calling woolies and they've apologized and refunded me plus provided credit for inconvenience caused. So it's all gravy now.

See my comment/proof. Although I enjoy your conviction of me not being overcharged - woolies admitted & refunded the errors so it's all good now.

  • Anyone else find that shopping for fruits and vegetables (loose one's ones need to be weighed) are better of buying instore than online?

In store you pay fixed $ price/kg (and you get to choose the individual product's quality), but online I only see $ price/unit (seems unfair to me), and you might get a shii*y fruit/veg.

This is biggest hurdle I always think that keeps me from buying instore than online

If your worried about quality then Colesworth meat, fruit and veggies probably isn't for you.
