Sorry mate, better deal here. Might be a different model though. Spec-wise they look the same to me

Gaming laptops are never a good deal

    • +1

      They are this year.

      • 2400 is not a good price for a 3060 build , and gaming on a laptop is just suboptimal

        • -1

          But a 3060 for $1500 is.

          • @The Value: But it's not 1500?

            • @Carney: You said all gaming laptop's are never a good deal.

You should of said "this laptop".

@The Value: They still aren't, more heating issues and can't customise for the price you pay they arent a bargain

  • Seriously 1080p on a $2.5k screen. Dell Australia needs to offer the 1440p version here..

    • +1

1080p is perfect for a gaming laptop. Much easier to get higher frame rates with a 1080p panel than a 1440p. If this were a content creation/professional laptop then I'd agree 1440p is better (and 1600p 16:10 better again).

  • Wasn't the 3070 varient a similar price not that long ago. Apparently the R5 isn't a popular laptop.

  • Honestly I use to have the old Alienware laptops in 2010 for a few years, they were FANTASTIC to game especially when i was having to move around with family and school. Wouldn't get one today, but if you can't do desktops - the price and performance is quite decent.

  • If you can put up with the buggy Alienware Control Center, this laptop is a pretty decent laptop.

AWCC caused serious issues on my unit, I wouldn't risk it.

  • Personally I like the non-gaming look gaming laptop like G15, similar configuration cost $800 less than this one when on sale. for G15 the only downside is screen.

  • I have one of these and love it. Got it through the Dell eBay store with 20% off for $2159. This laptop initially got some bad reviews on YouTube due to thermal issues but my unit has been fine. It does run hot but my older Alienware ran hot anyways so I expect that.
