Looking for Recommendation for a DC Ceiling Fan?

Good morning,

Can anyone recommend an interior dc ceiling fan with a light and remote control.

I'm trying to find one that's ideally under about $300 each as I need four of them.

Also any alternative companies online that you've used to buy them?

Cheers

  • We installed brilliant tempest 2 fans after speaking to a family member who is a sparky - ideally find a mate who can put it through an electrical wholesaler on their trade account.
So far happy with them (has been about 6 months now) only just getting around to using them a bit now as the weather warms and they are quiet. Also they take bulbs which means you don't need to replace the whole fan when the light dies. Not sure if that's standard.

edit: to add in the line about bulbs.

      This is an AC fan.

      • ah whoops - pays to read! Sorry OP - thanks drillvoice

  • I don't know where you are located, but I bought a DC ceiling fan from these people a couple of years ago and it's been great. There seems to be plenty with lights for under $300.

I got a DC ceiling fan from ALDI two years ago. It looks pretty darn schmick as most people have commented when I gave them a walkthrough the house.

It came with a 36 month warranty and I purchased for $199. Used pretty constantly around 4-5 months of the year. Still quiet AF and gives a better breeze than the one it replaced.

All in all, I can't complain. It does exactly what I needed it to do, with a minimum of fuss, so far. The fact that it looks the goods is a nice bonus.

  • Got 2 x the non light variety of this fan from Early Settler.

At $350 each they might be a little more expensive, but I'm very happy with the fit and finish, low noise, large air volume and ease of operation and installation.

EDIT : Actual got the bigger variety without light, strangely there doesn't seem to be a light version of this model https://www.earlysettler.com.au/suva-fan-natural-timber-163c…

  • We have this one in the main bedroom. Very quiet but the only downside would be the remote is pretty small. https://www.bunnings.com.au/arlec-120cm-black-dc-ceiling-fan…

Energy efficiency, size and they run quieter

They are more low-key than a Marvel fan

  • We got 2 of these installed prior to last summer. Great fan, super quiet and very effective.

On a warm night have it on the slowest speed and has a nice soft breeze and barely notice it is on with the minimal sound they make.
Another good thing which is very handy is the timer function the remote. Can turn on fan and select how many hours to be on before it automatically shuts off.
