How much more will the electricity cost you though ?

    • +1

Depends on the tv you use to watch the kayo

and the price you pay to Alinta Energy for using the electricity…

        • And the kayo deal is not worth ($15*12=$180). This is what i paid as telsta cust at the moment.

          • @HolyCr4p:

And the kayo deal is not worth ($15*12=$180).

            Nope, I'm paying $5 for 12 months = $60 as a Telstra customer.

            • @jv: How lucky

              • @HolyCr4p: It wasn't luck, it was an offer at the start of this year.

For my Melb SE suburb, both supply and usage are 7.1% higher than their no kayO option.

      • So it's not really 'free' then, is it?

        • That's for Alinta to argue. You pay nothing to kAyo.
So technically free, with overpriced electricity. Buyer beware.

At best, it's discounted kaYo. Depending on your electricity usage.

  • The Sports Pack Energy Plan is available in Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and South East Queensland.

  • Any cheaper gas and electricity in NSW, 2065 ?? I am keen to know cheers !

  • I'm using it in WA. We only need to connect our gas service to Alinta. Works out to cost around $2.00 to $2.50 per month for Kayo based on my usage pattern.

  • why don't they simply give netflix ? :D … they will get more customer for that one for sure :D

  • Is the code they provide a 12 month subscription? They say if you cancel the plan they cancel your Kayo subscription. How long does the Kayo cancellation usually take?

    • Anyone got a take on this?

      • I'll give you an update in the next few weeks. I just signed up with red energy a couple months ago and have received my 15,000 Qantas points. Just waiting for my first bill then will be taking my electricity over to Alinta. Nothing to lose as they are as cheap as other retailers in my area for my TOU tariff. It will essentially be free Kayo for 12 months. I will just need to test whether the Alinta subscription can be added on top of my current subscription.

        • How did you go? Thinking of switching away from Alinta but currently have the free 12 months Kayo.

          • @blehbear: Yes, I was able to stack on top of my current subscription.

  • No deal, the kw and gas rates are higher than you'd pay for a kayo sub

  • Seems alot cheaper than kayos $25/month. Guess it works out better for a smaller usage household. Works out roughly extra $50/yr for me.

  • This has come to an end, unfortunately.

Our Sports Pack Energy Plan is unfortunately no longer available for new customers. Existing customers currently on the Sports Pack Plan will continue to receive their complimentary subscription to Kayo Basic until the expiry of your benefit period.

I got three years out of it. I might now have to join the world of Kayo code-sharing. Or live without it.

    • Where did you find this info? I can't find it, but agree the plan has disappeared. I was just about to investigate if I could get another 12 months by cancelling for a while.
May have to give in and buy a motogp subscription next year.

I found out for the same reason. I called Alinta to roll over the plan/benefit and was told it is no longer being offered. Existing customers will carry the benefit for the remainder of their 12-month term.

I got three years out of it, so I can't complain. I've already churned away from Alinta, so it's a customer lost for them.

        • I might switch back to AGL to stop them emailing me about the 10c credit left on my account from previously.

          • @md333: I went with Origin, strangely enough. I didn't even know they sold gas into the Perth market. Cheapest published rates overall, and Woolworths Rewards had a 10,000 points promo.

            • @Charlie Dont Surf: AGL still seems cheapest to me. Very low usage so its really only the daily charges that count.
