Appears to be an exceptional deal from Lodge on a great sized skillet, fortunately I had a price drop notification from CamelCamelCamel. The 10 inch is $72.14, and I checked that the 12 inch lid price isn't reduced either. Been waiting for a good price and finally get to see how I go cooking with cast iron.

Good deal. Have ordered one and was even 2c cheaper :)
Hope it’s not too heavy
Might wait for the updated Dolby Atmos version of this🤣
Price jumps to $61.96 when I try to purchase it, I have prime.
Shows 61.96 for me 😔
It just changed to $61.96, like before my eyes!!! damn
Managed to get one about 5mins ago for $38.25. Have way too many cast iron cooking equipment now.
Buy first think later!
Managed to get one, thanks OP. Been holding off on cast iron for ages, I'm in now for life I guess.
I really wanted their other 12" pan to come to a similar price (the one with the straight sides)
I already have a 12 inch but would of grabbed another for when the missus eventually drops our 12 inch one again and breaks it.
You mean it breaks floor right?
Would of thought some tiles would of break but it landed on the handle and snapped it off so must of slowed down the rest of the frying pan before it hit to hard.
"I already have a 12 inch"
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Dang it. I’ve been waiting!
Is this 12” a good size for general use?
Or is a different size preferable?I have one in Columbia brand, and it's too big and heavy for my liking. For one thing, most burners don't heat up that size of pan well (and cast iron doesn't conduct heat very well) so you end up with the edges being much cooler than the centre. Prefer my stainless steel 12" as the aluminium core conducts heat to the edges much better. For another thing, it's really, really heavy; the extra handle is useful, but then you need two hands to carry it.
I find the opposite with my cast iron pans where the edges are always hotter than the center!
Am guessing you have a gas burner? Flames would be going out around the outside and leaving the middle without direct heating. I have an induction stove, but the element doesn't come close to getting to the edges. Either way, cast iron heat conduction is crap (heat retention/thermal mass on the other hand, is huge)
@askvictor: Gas indeed. The same thing happens when I put a larger pan over a smaller burner even though the fire is directly to the centre it will remain the coldest part. Cast iron is just great for heating till it starts smoking and getting a good sear without getting that delicious burning teflon smell or warping any other type of pan.
Define general use and what you're planning on cooking it in? In all probabilities yes it is. 10" and 12" are my go to pans (in that order - cooking for 2)
Fantastic price - previously $98
