Online 3D Printing Service

Just wondering if there were any recommendations for online 3D printing services.
Trying to get thisfile printed, quotes are coming in around $100-$150. No idea if I'm selecting the right materials etc though.

Thanks

Try etsy. I'd give you a price but I've already got at least the next month planned out and I assume you want it soonish.

    • I'm curious, do you do on demand 3D printing?

  • Thanks, hadn't thought of etsy.
No rush, most of the quotes are one month lead time anyway.

    Where are you located?

I'm in Brisbane and have seen a few people on gumtree posting about 3D print services.

I've got a 3D printer and am happy to give it a go printed in PLA+ for a pack of beers!

    • Locked down in SW Syd 😂
Sure boozebud or similar cover Brisbane🍻

      • Hit up gumtree or local Facebook groups. I'm sure you will find heaps of hobby printers that are looking for some justification for owning the printer!

  • No way it should cost that much. I just loaded it into Cura and it uses just over 3m of filament with 100% infill, print time is just over an hour. It's a small straight forward print and I would do it but my 3D printer is out of action.

    • From what I can see with the quotes there's a "setup fee" per piece, material cost seems quite low. I can understand the surcharge for one off random jobs for commercial services. Reached out to a few on etsy, see what happens there I guess, shame to ditch the headset as it's less than 6 months old.

      • Are you on OCAU? There's a thread there for 3D printing requests, someone could do it there for way less or you can take up hopper577 offer for a pack of beers.

      • Material costs are usually the lowest factor and labour is the main cost. I'd expect this to be around $25 plus post and you'd get people doing it just as a hobby for probably under $10. I'd be interested to find out what other quotes you get, maybe my pricing is way off.

        • I think your pricing is pretty close. The print has minimal supports as it's mostly flat on one side so hardly any post processing needed.

      • A headset should have more than six month warranty… Hit up supplier or Razor, unless you stepped on them.

Guessing they are broken? Not an upgrade? You didn’t mention in your original post…

        • Common issue with Razer headsets apparently, clip that holds the earpiece cracks under normal use.
Razer are replacing with Nari Ultimate, but aside from the clip the headset is in perfect condition.. just hate to waste anything.

  • Just got a few more quotes from online enquiries, all >$150.. get the feeling they're trying to price themselves out for the inconvenience.
Signed up to etsy, looks interesting.

    OCAU? Overclockers Australia? nope

    • Yeah Overclockers Australia.

I'm in SW Sydney and happy to lend a hand using PLA+ on my 3D printer. Anyways, let me know.

  • A couple years ago I got something printed at the Council supported 3d printing club in Rhodes.

Might be something similar in your area.

Add another $100 to that quote and you can get an Ender printer and do it yourself.

  • I've used this site a couple of times:

    https://www.treatstock.com/my/print-model3d?utm_source=top_u…

    Didn't have any issues.

    • Awesome- Thanks looks promising pricing around the $30 mark

  • I'm starting a Website called 3Dmake.com.au. It's based on the defunct 3DHubs marketplace where you can hire private idle 3D Printers for printing at a nominal price. We are 7 weeks from finishing the MVP of the website. Developing it in React.JS, MongoDB and Node.JS, me and my dev team just got STL supporting preview and size calculation done and are working on the frontend now.

  • Facebook Marketplace, lot's of people on there doing 3D printing services relatively cheap! If you need a name, inbox me I use a particular guy, great service very decent price!
