This is discrimination against rest of Australia,
Everyone we need to do a Australia wide riot, forget about the small issues like lockdown, climate, rules, this is the biggest issue atm in Australia, KFC offering a $2.5 burger in one state and discriminating the rest.
Let's make a date to stand up and say "WE WANT CHEAP BURGERS".

    • Colonial lives matter

    • I personally prefer the $9.95 for 9 chicken tuesday and 24 nugs for $10 that started today, not so sure on the double burgers

God damn, I love thousand island sauce. Bring this to Vic!!!!

    • It's not thousand island. It's fancy sauce. They combine ketchup and mayonnaise.

Does anyone else remember when the Colonel burger was first released in Australia at a price of $1 (in the 90's).

    • Yep, mega processed brown patty made from bits of all parts of a chicken (maybe chicken?) Pretty sure that one had lettuce on it. This one is a real fillet (tiny though) and you can add lettuce for 20c (and bacon $1 and cheese 50c etc) so an improvement I guess… Either way, I liked them both.

  • If only we could spoof location on Kentucky like the 711 fuel peeps.

    • I think you mean get dropped off by our helicopters. Sadly border restrictions has eliminated interstate lunches

This sounds like an amazing burger but kind of ruined by the fact it's only in SA

  • This is a rewind and a half.
Back in 2000 I used to walk to the local mall, it was an hour walk (that feels like a long way for a pre-teen) with my $5 to get 2 of these.

So cool the old price is back; I don't think they even exist in QLD anymore; used to be a processed chicken patty, tons of mayo, and lettuce.
    Glorious.

    • I wore an onion on my belt as that was the fashion at the time…

Just tried the burger, it is practically the Original Recipe burger without the sauce and lettuce. It's not as good as I would imagine it to be, the sauce is a bit like chipotle, in other words a spicy thousand island dressing. It's good overall, but I would prefer it without the sauce. 8/10 because of its amazing value.

    • Have also just had one. I noticed you could swap the sauces around to basically anything else they have on other burgers (for free! - not like Maccas and Jack's) so will try it next time with something different. Burger is pretty tiny though hey? But not bad I guess if you get 2 with a free chips and drink for $5…

      • Hey I'm not complaining, $2.50 a burger? It's a steal. I had two of them. Will definitely try to swap out the sauce though, cheers for the tip.

  • wow 1000 island sauce!
My islet of islet of langerhans gonna hate me

  • Ok I got this, and it's not great. It's not a usual chicken fillet in the middle, it's a processed patty thing like the tender strips or whatever they call them now. No big crunchy coating on the burger. And the sauce was meh, and I really like thousand island. I won't buy again, even though this sounds like a bargain, not worth it.
