Yes this is very good price for gen 2 switch.

  • This is only L2 I believe. Pro has the L3.

    • It say in the listing L3, I think you are right this cant be L3 if not pro model.

  • Mod This deal is not expired. Item is out of stock but you can still buy it as mentioned in the OP.

  • Also might be worth while adding that is only has 195W of POE budget

    • across 32 ports

so unless you have a stack of low energy wireless points etc.

    • yeah pretty crap POE output considering my US-24-250W switch which is 24ports and has 250W across all ports.

    • What is even the point of having it POE+ with such a low budget?
That's about 6w per port, where POE is 15w and POE+ is 30w
Might wait for the 750w version to come on special

      • You may have several POE pieces and many non POE. Not everything plugged into the switch may need POE. Horses for courses.

I have the following PoE gear:
        7 Unifi G3 - currently using 2.3-3.5W per camera
        AC Pro - 4.2W
        U6 Lite - 4.25W
        Cloudkey Gen 2 Plus - 7.9W
        Flex Mini Switch - 1.78W

Numbers are being reported by the Unifi Switch. So nothing of mine is using above 10W currently and most of my gears under 5W. I’m sure the cameras use a bit more when IR is active, but even then I’m guessing these specific cameras will be at or under 5W. More expensive cameras will no doubt draw more power though.

250W will be an issue if you need to max out every port, but a lot of devices won’t need to come close. It’ll depend on what you need to run.

This must be a joke. L2 gigabit switch for $649. Just get a 2nd hand cisco.

Mate you can buy what ever suits you better but there are people using Ubiquiti Unifi stuff and it suits them. I am not sure about your negative vote for the deal. did you find the product cheaper some where else.

      • Ubiquity makes a lot of very good products, but this one is not one of them. I take your point and removed neg.

  • is this backward compatible with 802.3af poe devices? like a poe camera.

    • Yes it is backward compatible.

  • Damn no SFP+ ports so no 10G support. Odd my current switch from UniFi has 2SFP and 2SFP+ ports.

    • Gen1 Switch have 2 SFP+ ports. If you are after 10G support you will be better served with Switch 48 PoE (500W), https://store.ui.com/collections/unifi-network-switching/pro…. this is noisy switch though but better specs wise.

It's more quiet when you replace the stock fans with noctua ones.

    • I think with this switch you can buy (Ubiquiti UniFi 8-port 10G SFP+ Aggregation Switch Layer 2 Switch Fanless) for around $350 when it is discounted through eBay 20% voucher. you will have 2 newer generation switches. POE budget will be still lot less than first gen switch that alone sells for around $900 new.

Nice price. But shame it only has 1gbe sfp ports..

    • I have posted deal for gen1 Ubiquity UniFi US-48-Port switch that do have SFP+ ports
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/649234

      • Your post was for the non POE switch. This has POE

        • -1

Yes non It was non PoE but very good price.

  • What are people using 48 ports at home for?

    I've got 2 x unifi 8 port switches, 2 APs and a USG.

    • Just in case you need all ports and rack mount. Rack mounted stuff just looks cooler lol.

  • My switch arrived today 🤗🤗

    • I am looking forward to get main today as well. Now change over to Unifi journey starts.

    • Awesome!
Can you help me in advising where I can go to draw up a plan for home network?
I want to use Ubiquiti since I've been hearing it is brand and products.
