If any gov in vic is willing to get off ur arse and legalise this stuff

A trial across 4 councils was announced a day ago…

The trial will be held in the City of Melbourne, City of Yarra, City of Port Phillip and the City of Ballarat

      • -5

Nice for the Melbourne Hipster to pick up his pumpkin spice latte!

        • +3

Not true… I have the turmeric spice latte…

      • The 12month trial they keep on talking about? Finally, but urgh what is it gonna be… another 24 months+ before it’s legalised? I have no idea how long laws take to pass in vic btw…

    • +8

Why would you vote for the bloke who nearly lost control of his own party? He's the most lost opposition I've seen in sometime

        • +12

Dictator? I'm sure we could arrange a visit to Afghanistan so you can get some freedoms then.

            • +2

@jv: i mean you can go Afgh for the freedom then?

              • -5

@kekw: They're not free now though, much like we aren't.

They are getting lower daily covid cases though…

        • +1

wow - people are really pro-dan on ozb.
i'm not in vic, but its interesting to see from an outsiders point of view that one gets upvoted and the other gets downvoted.

          • @01011010:

@01011010: Alot of sjw wokes on here. Been an eye opener the last 6 months

    • The NTC recently conducted a detailed review into PMD's. They have updated the model Australian Road Rules (ARR) to include them for use on footpaths and certain roads. This proposed change was endorsed by transport ministers somewhat recently.

Now we just need each state government to vote on the amendment to their respective road legislation to include the updated ARR. It finally seems to be getting closer.

    • You mean Mark O’Baird?

  • decent price

  • +1

Wondering if there will be a 3 pro soon, seeing the 3 is already out.

  • +3

Good price from trusted seller, but will wait for e45 that has Anti-Puncture tyres.

  • Great price !

I've got the mi pro 2 & ninebot max (both fantastic scooters just check YouTube! )

    • How do they compare to each other?

      • +3

The ninebot is $1000k+ so double the mi pro 2

Ninebot has a larger standing platform and 65km range vs 45km range

Both do 25km/hr but I believe can be unlocked to go even faster!

If you are just wanting an easy scooter the mi pro 2 gets my vote !

        • I’m in the market for a scooter and was gonna get the Ninebot Max G30P with the Gen2 Engine for $1099

          Wondering now…

          • +1

@Twisty: I can't compare directly since I don't have a Pro 2, but I just got a Ninebot Max and it feels much safer to ride than the M365 I used to have. It's far sturdier and all the joints/levers all have extra reinforcement. The bigger tires make it feel more comfortable to ride on the same path as well.

If you're commuting most days on a longer trip to work, Ninebot Max gets my vote. When you're standing on it for 30mins+, comfort is king.
For shorter trips, you could probably go the Pro 2 without losing too much.

        • +7

          The ninebot is $1000k+

          Millionaire flex

        • +1

does the Ninebot do well uphill/steep inclines?

          • +1

@mr_vino89: I used to have a M365 that couldn't quite make it up the steep hill near my house, you had to kick it up the last bit or you'd stall.
Both the Ninebot Max G30P and Mercane Widewheel Single motor can go up quite fine reaching 16km/h near the top.
My friend's expensive Apollo Explore can go up easily without losing any speed however, that thing is a monster.
Modding the M365 for additional voltage allowed it to make it although slowly.

Electric Scooter Guide has a lot of reviews you can use to compare with their hill climbing test as well.

          • @mr_vino89: Yep does it just fine!

  • +1

    Keep checking your tyre pressures!
Let mine go down and the back got a hole. Absolute worst to change and find replacements.

    • +1

My scooter came with a spare, I also inflate it at home so always checking the pressure 18v Ryobi pump

      • +1

Yes, all come with a spare, but now that I have used the spare, I need to replace the spare incase I need to change again

        • +1

          AliExpress cheap cheap 👍

          • @Gomo: So many options, not sure which is the closest to genuine

        • +2

          Or you could repair it

  • +1

What does everyone do when you need to leave it somewhere? What sort of lock would you use?

    • +1

      You bring it with you

    • +1

I found something for about $5 AUD ($12 inc postage) from Aliexpress that looks decent - search for "M365 anti-theft" and pick one of the options that has thousands of purchases + 4.5+ reviews.

Edit: It's in transit so haven't actually tried it yet.

    • i've seen people use d-locks through their back wheel.

  • +7

I purchased this in January this year when it was $699 at JB. Here are my thoughts.

Bought it to get to the gym and back at lunch time. 2km trip each way, takes less than 5 mins on this. I'm around 74kg and this rides easily at 20km/h at 10-12% climb in some sections. On flats, it stays around 23-25km/h. You don't want to go any faster without risking some injuries given it has tiny wheels, it starts to get unstable at around top speed.

Build quality is fantastic and you definitely feel you got your money's worth when you use this. When folded, it can be stored easily under a desk or in a corner for charging.

Only thing i would like to see is some suspension mechanism. Because the ride is quite bumpy. Even a slightest uneven surface and you have to hold onto it tight.

I'm in Vic and have ridden past cops many many times and they don't' seem to care, however if one was in a bad mood and just wanted to ruin your day, they can definitely give you a fine.

Also, haven't been to the gym in a long time now because of lock down so not getting much use out of it. but looking forward to using this again some day!! (here's hoping)

Bought it to get to the gym and back at lunch time.

How are you doing that legally ?

Are you only riding on private property ???

    • Think there are suspension mods you can make

    • +3

Even a slightest uneven surface and you have to hold onto it tight.

Nah - you want to be loose like a skate board or snow board. Your knees are the suspension, keep them bendy.

    • upgrade my pro2 with 10 inch tyres instead of original8.5inch. smoother ride and less bumpy. i was going to get the shock absorber installed but since the 10 inch tyres, no longer see need. in melb guy on gumtree - bought my tyres, and spacer kit, took it to him and picked up day after. best value mod for any xiaomi scooter.

  • Interested but want to see the new Mi Scooter 3 also!

  • Can anyone recommend a good fuss free tire pump / inflator for this? Is the Xiaomi one that gets posted from time to time on Ozb a good option?

    • I don't have this scooter but I have the pump. Would recommend. Fills a entire car tyre from flat (one time only )

learn how to spell for once.

          • @jv: Isn't it just a matter of are or bre?

    • Ryobi 18v pump is good ! Bunnings has them

    • I use the xiaomi pump to pump up this xiaomi scooter. will recommend.

What is a 45 Km mileage?

    • +4

Approximately the equivalent of a 28 mile kilometrage

  • How do these scooters fare during the rain? Do they have an IP rating on them?

    • Nope not recommended for use in rain

    • Get the ninebot Max for rain resistance

  • Is the code still working? It doesn't for me, hence $689

    • Try M10

      • +1

        it works. Thanks

  • Looks like this deal has already expired. I tried to contact Gearbite to ask a few questions prior to purchase. They didn't respond by phone or email. Good luck trying to claim warranty if they don't have any pre-sales service. I would rather purchase from Mi-store as I got an email response from them within a day.

    • +1

Please let me know your email by PS, i would like to check for you.

      • Hello, Thanks for touching base. Given that I hadn't purchased from you before I just wanted to see how easy it was to contact you (and I had a few questions). It looks like you have a presence, so on that basis I have placed an order with you and see how things go ;)

You might want to review your published phone/email contact methods as I tried both. In the case of the phone, I tried around 4-5 times over 2 days but the calls were never answered. I left 1 voice message to call back which never occurred. My email was never responded to.

        Hope that is useful feedback.

        • Enjoy the scooter it's awesome

  • Discount works for me using M10 instead

  • I thought about it too long, and it sold out :(

    • Still in stock but dispatch now says 30th September

      • I got one. But I don't think either of the codes work anymore.

        • Well website now says sold out now

  • +2

    Mine has shipped.

    • Unfortunately I'm waiting on Couriers Please. It's been in their Perth depot for a week and hasn't budged.

      • Covid delays ! 😂

        Hopefully soon!
