Not the cheapest but still a pretty good deal for a 50 in UHD TV.

I dunno, The FFalcon TV I used was pretty much unusable lol. Was so slow to respond to any button.
The only TV on the market with a stutter.
Sssssounds gooodddddd
Does it come with Android TV OS?
Yes
It is Linux OS on JB HIFI website
Dont start the Android is a Linux kernel wars here; i get enough of that at work, lol.
@MasterScythe: And OSX is just BSD, right?
@Joker042: Nah that ones EASY to argue, OSX is Darwin Unix with extensions; that's not even really a debate. Even among Darwin diehards (I work with some), they all accept it.
@MasterScythe: Oh, there's more turtles under that one! :D
No - Ffalcon doesn't run Android TV.
They run a linux based OS
No audio/videophile here but we needed a quick and dirty tellie for the rental place we were moving into and purchased one of these about a year ago (previous generation UF1). Running of a Vodafone TV so not worried about any of the inbuilt services (inbuilt services are Linux based NOT Android TV) , it's a display only and it hasn't missed a beat.
Whats the biggest TV you can watch free to air TV on without it looking terrible?
Some channels are still 576p (because we all still use CRTs …not), but even 1080i looks bad on a 75".
Whats the energy use on this? I was looking at 75" TVs the other day that use more energy than my airconditioner…which is crazy. Our current 42" TV uses 35 watts, an LG OLED used 920 watts!
My tip, feel if the screen feels hot. If it does, leave it there.
Lastly, do most mainstream TVs support H265 these days?
I have a 160" projector, and the non-hd channels look poor.
The HD variants are acceptable; obviously no BluRay, but absolutely watchable.
We used to watch digital TV at my work on our 100" projectors, before HD channels were a thing, and that was noticeable, but tolerable. After 2 mins everything looked normal.
i think anything below 92" (the largest TV we sold back then) will be fine at a greater than 3m viewing distance; because they were, back before HD channels.
In regards to viewing distance, ive always used THX standards; there are calculators online :)
Thanks for the THX calculator, good idea. I'll probably go 55 or 65 max. A lot of movies on my HDD are 720p, and free to air TV productions are still stuck in 1996.
There's no particular size that free to air starts to look bad at - it will all depend on your viewing distance. Sit far enough from a 75" and it will look fine. Sit close enough to a 42" and it looks terrible.
Hmm, unfortunately I'm 'cursed' with really good vision..haha. I tried to get free sunnies with my private health. Can be 10m + away at a bar and all I see is blocks everywhere. The THX calculator as above is a good idea, will use that. But suspect I won't go bigger than 55 until 2k/4k is mainstream.
Between this and TCL 50p715?
Tcl but how much?
It was $400 a few weeks ago in their clearance. Happy to wait for others to list it in the next few weeks or so.
if JB Hi Fi is closer, same price there it seems:
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/ffalcon-50uf2-50-ultra-hd…
They will price match if you call them in any case. It's a pretty good process, I called twice this week and got no wait time, and they SMS you a link to the product(s) that you have matched at the agreed price and you just process the order from that.
I bought the 50" AG7 Hisense 4K TV and an Apple TV as a second TV set up, they matched the former to $730 and the latter to $245.
Good call! Also free delivery to some areas including my own. $35 if I go with TGG.
Depending on where you live, you might want to C&C given there's a huge delay in delivery due to lockdown
Thanks! Grabbed one and used egiftcards to bring it down $20 + free delivery!
Omg. I've just grabbed one. Good deal so far
Hey guys, i'm interested in getting of these for the bedroom but not sure if it fits my table.
Does anyone know what the measurement of the legs is? From the outer part of one leg to the other?
It's a bit less than 90cm
Lowest this has gone is $319 so it's kind of a bargain but not really. At this price you can probably get a TCL for a bit more, or even a Kogan 'signature series'
FFALCON being TCL's last generation panels.
Compared to any other 'budget TV' offerings from years gone by, this brand is worlds above.
Don't expect miracles, but don't expect the usual trash either.
