COTD Caribee Starlight Rucksack - good?

The COTD Caribee Starlight 40L rucksack deal is back again. For those who bought it the last time, is it a good rucksack? I can't find any info on the net on it.

Thanks!

  • I recall these being advertised before and they weren't legit Caribee backpack models? Anyone else remember this? I couldn't find the model numbers on Google.

    • The other deal mentioned that it's likely to be a model made for some asian markets. It did seem strange that it's nowhere to be found on the net though.

      Did anyone actually buy one?

  • http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/59974 Found this. Comments below.

  • i could be completely wrong, but if it's designed specifically for the asian markets, i wouldn't buy this if you're tall.

Also, you get what you pay for. I'm not sure you would want to be hiking in snow with a loaded $50 backpack.

    • Ahh, tallness is not a problem for me… unfortunately!

Mmm yeah I definitely wouldn't put it in the same league as 'proper' brands like Karrimor and North Face, but if it's decent (since it's meant to cost more full-price), it could be worth it?

An adventure store in the city was moving a few months ago, they had nice Karrimors at $49. I was umm'ing and ahh'ing and didn't get it. Kicking myself now!

      • Karrimors at $49

        :o what a deal!

  • In case anyone's interested, COTD has dropped the price on these. They're now $29.95 plus $6.95 shipping. There's a $10 shipping cap at the moment too.

    I'm sure glad I didn't buy it before. :)
