We've got 4 kids, so a bigger family and have been using these guys for a few weeks now. Our experience has been -
- The quality of the produce is mostly really great (we got some grapes that weren't that fresh, but that has been our only complaint). It is better than supermarkets. It seems some of it is grown locally.
- It has always worked out cheaper than the supermarkets overall. We stock up when we buy, so always go over the $99 free delivery limit.
- The produce comes in recyclable cardboard boxes and the plastic bags used can be put in your compost, so I'm really happy about that.
- A number of products can only be bought in increments of 1kg, so you may have to flex on your recipes.
- I find it tricky sometimes knowing how much to buy - it's easy when you're at the shop to pick out the right quantity, but I never took much notice of how much things actually weigh! Google has been my friend telling me how much stuff weighs. It would be helpful if Jim's provided that info though e.g. 1 banana weighs Xg on average.
- Customer service has been good. They ran out of one of our items and were more than happy to talk me through that. They ended up just applying a credit to my account, but actually offered free delivery of that item when it came back in stock.
They do specials each week, which they send out mid-week if you've created an account with them.
How have others who have experienced Jim's found their order? I ordered previously, oranges had mould where the stem connects, ginger was dried up and under weight, apples came bruised. Debating if I should give them another go.
