Needless to say, but not as good as $20 for a whole year!
hear! hear! not sure why you got neg'd
The subscription you're signing up for seems to entail that you'll pay $59 per quarter, after your free issues run out. NOT A DEAL.
Even using WY03, you're apparently committing to continue the subscription:
"Continuous Service Subscriber Program
You give permission to Guardian Weekly to charge your credit card the price above now and in time to renew your subscription, without interruption, before the start of each new term at the guaranteed rate then in effect unless you tell Guardian Weekly to stop.
You may cancel at any time and receive a full refund for any unmailed issues. You understand this authorisation will be effective until you cancel it."
So, if you buy into this offer, don't forget to cancel on-time.
Have to say have started reading this after the $20 deal and its a fantastic paper…just wish I could figure out the electronic subscription…
Register with the same email you used for ordering. Your code is on your address label in the plastic bag.
I am a victim of this trap : i did not read about the "continuous subscription" part and just received my credit card bill of $53.75 charged by Guardian. I will try to get my money back, but don't know how much chance i have. I seldom get a chance to read these things, a lot of them are sitting there in their plastic wraps.
The result is not too bad. I just got their reply. They will fully refund the $53.75. Their customer service is good.
WY03 appears to offer the same deal fixed for 6 weeks (i.e. doesn't continue at std price).
That's what the description seems to imply anyway.
