I ordered a pair from them a few weeks ago with my most recent prescription and found myself struggling to adapt to the them — felt dizzy even after 2 weeks of wearing them. I suspect they made a mistake with my prescription. May just be my luck; maybe most people get their glasses as prescribed.
I've requested for a return but they told me to check an optometrist to confirm first but I have yet to see an optometrist due to the extended lockdown in Melbourne. They didn't seem willing for me to return it unless it's a valid reason or if the mistake is on them. Their return policy is 100 days so I hope they will abide by that if an optometrist confirms that the prescription on the pair of glasses are off…
PS: I know I've got my prescription right because I've ordered from other online retailers like Clearly using the same prescription and their glasses are great.
I ordered from them last year bc they were like $300+ less than opsm and yeah i had same exact issue, was giving me so many headaches and got dizzy even after 2 weeks. I checked the prescription at optometrists and turns out they’re fine. Then around 5-6 weeks later I was wearing them comfortably.. was weird but happy with them now especially how much I saved.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Have you tried their prescription checker app? Everytime I used it, the glasses I got from them shows 0.25 higher than my prescription. My other glasses from Clearly was as prescribed… Anyways, I'll have to check with the optometrist to confirm.
I sthis a phone app that uses the phone camera to check your prescription?
@cykezero: Yeah, it's called the Vision Direct lens scanner. Apparently it's quite accurate according to Vision Direct… It also measures your PD (pupillary distance) which is required for online ordering of glasses.
@Hamlet: Thanks I'll have to try it out.
Is it possible to claim from private health insurance?
Yes, you just have to submit to your health insurer a manual claim for reimbursement after you have paid the full price to Vision Direct and got an invoice.
If I get thinner lenses will the private health fund still cover the entire cost? Is there a way to check this before purchasing?
Specs Savers have frame and single vision lens (without coatings ) starting from $39
None of the discount codes work imcluding the student beans one. It was working an hour ago but not anymore.

Thanks for the codes.
Not sure if it was supposed to happen but I ended up getting more back from private health than the actual cost!
I got a pair for $18 shipped and damn it pretty good and fast turnaround. Definitely worth it as a backup pair.
$111 with high prescription lenses, which is about $40 - $60 cheaper than other discount suppliers (when I checked them last week)
