Does that price include hotel quarantine on the way back?

    • +1

Do they still charge for that?

      • +4

        Yes they do, $3,000.
And it is also hard to find a reason to get out of Australia.
(source: myself trying to move back to Europe for good, long story)

        • That shouldn't need a reason though - it's supposed to be automatic approval if you are leaving and not returning for 3 months+, are they really asking you for a reason?
          That sucks :(

          • +2

@nebakke: That's what you think (and what I thought too). No matter what, I've been told that I need to prove that I am not coming back, even if for > than 3 months.
They want for example proof that my furniture has been shipped, one way ticked, resignation, etc.

But I also read about horror stories of people doing the above and being denied.
So potentially I need to resign, get tickets, and only then, less than 2 months from leaving, apply

It is a mess for leaving this jail in which I will never be back,I a so sick.

In addition, my partner and I were supposed to get married here, but hey due to covid we can't get married.
So since we are not married, she is not allowed to come with me under my same exemption, meaning we will have to register us as a couple and hope that it will work.

            • @ets27:

So since we are not married, she is not allowed to come with me under my same exemption

I find this part hard to believe - in Australia you are legally in a de facto relationship if you have lived together as a couple for two years without separation. You can register, you don't need to have a 'ceremony'

              • @blackfrancis75: You are perfectly right.
This means more money as I already paid the fee for the wedding.
I need to pay a fortune to leave this country. I regret soooo much moving here that you can't imagine

@nebakke: I think i remember seeing somewhere too many people were claiming they weren't coming back, then applied later to re-enter and was causing mayhem.

            • @incipient: I can well imagine - I was just of the understanding that the rule meant you couldn't re-enter earlier, unless you had specific compassionate grounds - which doesn't include (I told work I'd be away for two weeks and they'll fire me if you don't let me back in).
              Interesting - thanks! :)

      • Do they still charge for that?

Thousands of Australians are stranded overseas for looong months, because of flight caps caused by hotels' capacity and the price of the hotel quarantine, (because of covid). And you simply can't travel overseas if you're in Australia.

Here's an update for those who paused news for the last year.

Does that price include hotel quarantine on the way back?

No need for quarantine as you will not be allowed to go…

    • +1

Fully refundable if travel restrictions remain in place?

      • Yes of course if it is due to restriction or any other force major situation. Since the beginning of pandemic we are running flexible cancellation terms. Thank you.

    • +2

so you, selling the ticket, are telling us that is a good deal.

      OK.

      • -5

Sorry for your restriction until the end of 2021. After that it will be more relaxed. And yes if you have intention to visit Greece next year, yes it is a good deal. Cheers.

        • Good deal? Not really :)

    haha. Hahahaha. Hahhahahhahahha. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Are you doing the laughing to a background track of Zorba the Greek ?

Not sure why the OP has their location as Athens, the company seems to be based in Turkey.

    • Hi,
Actually Eskapas has 3 operation centers in Europe; Istanbul, Athens and Paris. Possible one in Morocco in 2022. Operating only in 9 countries around Mediterranean. Thank you. for your interest.
      Alex

Not added: Our operation centers are different than our sales offices.

the company seems to be based in Turkey.

I'd avoid anything from a Turkish company due to all their human rights violations by their government.

      • +3

That's so unfair, they are equal opportunity advocates and will make your money disappear no matter what background, race or political persuasion you are from.

        • So who do you recommend I use to make my money disappear?

          • @jv: Any of the big 4 banks, but if your a deemed sophisticated investor AMP -You don't even have to be alive.

      • Also because their prime minister is an absolute nutter and wants to destroy everyone. Not to mention the fact Turkey constantly makes money off Greek heritage, history and culture but destroys it at the same time.. Pfft (apologies if this is an offensive comment in advance).

  • +1

Also, on August 2022 the price goes up to approx $3,500.
For that budget I could book myself great hotels for a month or so in greece!

    • It is for 2 people price. + apply 20% discount .

  • Even if you could get out of the country at the moment (dubious) the 2 weeks of mandatory Q back in Aus @ $3000 odd bucks kills it. That being said looks like an interesting tour!

    Go away Covid.

Well you've convinced me. I'm in. Can you wait a day as I'm expecting a large sum from my Nigerian inheritance?

    • +1

a large sum from my Nigerian inheritance?

We must be related. I have the same rich uncle..

  • I've caught a similar issue in the past before due to first lockdown. I got my money back except airfares and tickets to ferries and coaches. Not happy.
20% for this price is a risky deal.

    • You can book your trip with 100US$ deposit. I think we won't risk our brand for this ;) Cheers mate.

Chances are that this company might not even still be in business by 2023… Say good bye to your money…

    • Well, we are in the business since 2000, small but well-established company.
