      Yeah it’s getting more popularity, for a F2P game the content is really fun and you could actually get through all the story without paying a penny, you get the good characters for just playing the game, even a 4* team can outdone some of the 5* teams.
      For the switch sadly I think the power limitation is holding mihoyo back… we’ll see

      I mean pulls can cost money,
      You buy crystals and exchange them for primo gems, those primo gems could properly worth a few bucks and less grinding.
      I’d say it’s a bargain for whoever is playing this game and it doesn’t hurt for everyone to get it for free.

      On one hand, you're not wrong - it doesn't cost them anything to give you virtual money for their game.

      OTOH, it saves people time and money to get this stuff for free… so, it is a bargain in that sense.

      It's kinda like good advice. Doesn't cost much to give… but to build it up costs a lot of money and time (education, expertise, etc).

      Why pay for a novel when it's just words? These in-game consumables are content for sale - if you wanted to buy 300 Primogems outright it would cost $7.99AUD.

      They're handing this out for free so that's a bargain.

      lol, spent 0$ in this game whereas I spent over 2000$ in Azur lane.
      Don't feel like spending $200 on a single copy is worth. If you count weapon too thats another 500$. Like wtf?

      Kinda a shame buying crystals doesn't seem good value even at double value. With bonus it's still like 25 wishes for $50, not even a third of the way to a 5* character pity.

      For daily players the monthly "welkins moon" pass is good value though. About 18 wishes for $8.

      I would say Asia has the most Aussies. Playstation players are automatically set to the game's Asia server unless they set their PSN to a different country.

        How's the ping on Asia server? I've been playing on NA since launch and ping is always 200+ ms. Lucky it doesn't really hurt solo game play but I do notice some lag during coop.

          Asia is 160-180, US is 220+. You can swap between servers on the one account to try them out but your character, progress etc will not transfer between regions.

          Anything above 140ms(all things being equal), as I've discovered, is because your ISP is messing around with their back-end. They pick the cheapest up-stream provider to route your traffic to, and some routed players from NSW->USA->Tokyo

          You can use a VPN and hop around local Aus servers, and some will have a good ISP who aren't stingy.

              @sobes: My ISP is TPG, but they're also cheap. Some nights (maybe three times a month), I get dodgy routing and reach 170-200ms.
              Just do a tracert and see what your ISP is doing

      It's a good time to start, you'll need to grind to Adventure Rank 10 before you can collect the free Primogems. It'll probably take you a month to get to Inazuma and even then you will need to grind talent books/artifact sets to get the most out of your characters.

          I don’t think getting to level 10 is that long, when Genshin began, rerolling speed run would be 30 minutes, so if you’re just playing, maybe 2-3 hours.

              @neonlight: Although I see the appeal is that you start out with a character that you like without spending money; imo, because I don't have the time or patience, nor do I specially like any of the 5* characters - no.

              I just checked on YouTube what the reroll guides go now, they pull at level 5 which gives only about ~13 summons,
              The highest rarity is 0.6% chance - that 0.6% is split between 5 characters + 10 weapons.

              Unless you have vacation and can spend the whole day, multiple days focused on a repetitive task (you can't even skip full dialogue, only spam through the lines) - maybe.

              But if you do reroll, not now. Anniversary will be during the 2.1 update (anniversary in late September so idk when the event comes) with an extra 10 fates (1 fate = 1 summon; the primos mentioned in this post is 160 primos = 1 fate) - the problem is that we don't know if these 10 fates will be distributed all at once or over a period of days.

      This game is great for putting in a 30mins to 1 hour when you have some spare time.

    Just started playing on iOS.

    Locking the Settings menu behind ~10 minutes of gameplay is one of the worst UI disasters I've ever seen.
