We Are Bonds T-Shirt Promo

602

Bonds are giving away 35,000+ t-shirts. Currently 88 have been claimed

How to be part of The Birthday Project

  • In short, all you have to do is scroll to your birthday and upload a recent photo of yourself to that date.
  • Simply choose your best self-portrait shot (ideal dimensions at 1024x768px, up to 5MB file size) and upload.
  • Don’t worry if there’s already a photo on your birthday, you can add multiple photos to the same date.
  • You can choose to give us a display name rather than showing your first name to the public.
  • Once you upload and submit your photo, we’ll aim to check over it as soon as possible so that it can go live for all the world to see.
  • Once it’s checked, we’ll send you an email to confirm you’re in, but if you don’t hear back from us straight away don’t worry, you won’t lose your place in the queue, we’ll get to it as soon as possible.

free t-shirt with your date of birth printed on the front..
in exchange for which you give bonds free reign to do what they want with your name, email address, date of birth and photo that you upload…

    who thinks of these promos…

    • +15

The Information and Images may also be used by the Promoter on its website (www.bonds.com.au), Facebook Page (www.Facebook.com/Bonds), and in other forms of promotion or advertising including online web banners, packaging, in-store and point of sale, print, on-line, outdoor, TV and cinema advertising. The Information and Images may also be used by the Promoter's agencies associated with this Promotion in submissions for industry awards and behind the scenes footage.

      stuff that

    • +1

I claimed my date with a Gmail email address. Only your alias is shown and my photo is only a partial face.

  • that is pretty cool

  • Can't be bothered installing Flash or switching to Chrome.

  • +2

Is there anything stopping me from using an image of a random person I find on Google images?

    • +14

Of course not, silly. Just don't forget to disable SafeSearch and include the word 'naked'.

      • +2

Pfft, how could I forget to do that?

    • -1

Copyright on the photo you choose that is not yours.
Morality of lying about the submission being of you.

      • +1

        Eh.

    • +1

It may be watermarked, and depending on their system, it may be picked up.

      • Good thinking 99. Hmmmm….

  • +2

I'd prefer the shirt without the printing on the front but eh, whatever, it's free!

    • +6

It's not. Facebook and Google (at the minimum) are proof that your personal info is not free.

      • +3

I don't really care that people know my date of birth and that I like the colour purple and prefer carrots over peas, I probably should but I really don't. If someone can make money with that information, good luck to them!

        • +3

How often is a DOB used to help verify identity?

        • DOB is a very weak form of identification anyway, even in a pre-Facebook world.

        • +2

          Carrots ARE better than peas.

      • Why do you have to put your actual DOB?

        • Because the shirt has your DOB printed on it…

  • .

  • 01-01-1900 with a pic of Kylie - maybe?
All my details going to a mailing list - maybe not!

The code may be only used in respect of one purchase.

looks like only 15,000 tees guys. RUSHHHH!!!

    • I like the part where they expect 1 million entries (in the details regarding the total prize pool)

      a bit optimistic I think

      • I saw that as well. I like how nobody but us OzBargainers would think to calculate that.

    • Looks like the rules have changed…

For all Entrants who are the first person to nominate a particular birth date on a validly submitted entry, the Incentive is a free Bonds tee-shirt with the winner's birth date printed on the front valued at up to $21.95 RRP (depending on whether it is a men's, women's, kids or babies tee-shirt). The maximum number of tee-shirts available to be awarded in this Promotion is 35,301 (based on the number of birth dates available to be claimed). The total maximum value of this incentive is $774,865.95 (inc GST).

Where an Entrant is not the first person to nominate a particular birth date on their validly submitted entry, the available Incentive is a promotion code which entitles the Entrant to receive 10% off the price of any fully priced product offered for sale on the Bonds online store located at www.bonds.com.au. The code may only be used in respect of one purchase. The total expected maximum value of this incentive is $6,600,000 (inc GST).

  • When I get to the photo 'edit your image', it's tricky to get the image 'within the box'-
image won't stay there. Then, there's no NEXT button.
    Anyone help?
Update-The Bonds phone help desk says to be patient, as their site has so many people trying to get on. They've put messages on facebook.

    • You have to ZOOM in, then place your head in the box.

ie the entire outer box has to have part of the photo in it.

  • So is the image you upload going to be on the tshirt?

    • No, it won't. Check out the YouTube video- Rachael Taylor launches the Bonds Birthday Project, to see her in the Tshirt. It's just says " I AM …." & the date only.

When editing the image, do NOT click on the big X on the top right corner, as this will take you out, & you'll have to upload the pic again.

  • +22

Earliest date is 05/07/1915. WELL STUFF THAT.

    /WW1 Vet
    /Table flip

    • Age Discrimination.

Now I hate Pacific Brands even more.

      • This is when Bonds was born. The whole promotion is based on this fact.

    • +5

Table flipping 97+ year old … that's awesome!

      • +1

That was the part that got me because I could visualise it happening in my head.

  • +3

we finally get to see wht ozbargainers look like

    • +1

Are you sure you really want to know?

  • I did one for the youngest and oldest in our family. Neither have much of an online presence before today haha

  • The site is verrrrryyyyyyy slooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww. I suspect its currently being Ozbargained! I can only get it to work on the google Chrome browser but its taking forever to save the photo so Im not sure if its going to work or not?

    • That happened to me earlier, but if you select a facebook photo it's almost instant.

  • +1

I guess now that Bonds have gone off-shore they produce these for about 20cents each. I wonder if they will accept a picture of my dog?

  • +1

I made my very own dusty smith t :) 06-06-66

  • +4

    Free is free.
But ive been boycotting Bonds/Pacific Brands since they went offshore.

  • +1

You'll look like an idiot wearing this tee.

    • +1

      No I won't.

      • not to sleep, or work in my yard or paint the house

  • +1

4 hours of ozbargaining and only 400 taken?!

    • +1

      not being ozbargained

  • +10

Pacific brands are still boycotted by me and many others. I haven't forgotten the Cessnock fiasco with the manufacturing equipment that they were trying to send over seas. The Government "US Tax payers, payed for them" No one will tell anyone what happened to them.

    • +2

Maybe claim the free T shirt then post the picture of you burning it on there web site ?

  • Awww look at the cute babies! One is only 4 days old :)

  • Can we upload just a random stock photo???

  • +3

    • -2

She's looking forward to giving birth in May and getting married in December. Enough said…

    • 16.08.1989
      13.07.1989
      =]

  • i just want a free tshirt

  • +1

They are inviting mischief, if I have more time I would love to partake. But I will just have to encourage others to (remember it is Pacific Brands people, they deserve all that you can throw at them).

If you find a photo of "yourself" on the web that you would like to use, use print screen and paste it into a blank image and you should loose the original details….

    • +1

been doing that, I put my cat up…but the stupid idiots deleted it. At least he lives in Australia. Pacific Brands has no Fans in Cessnock NSW. Even the council there were not buying their products any more.

    • I wonder how many photos broden will be finding of himself on the web ;)

  • Anything in the terms say that my dog can't get a free t-shirt?

    • It will be deleted, my cat was.

      • Oh well stuff that, they're not getting a photo of me.

        • what if I put a picture of Chuck Norris?

I don't want to hurt any one.

  • When does the photos usually get approved??

    • with my cat it was within 5 minutes, it was disapproved

      • Did you get an email telling you that?

        • I recieved an email after i posted it,then picture just Disapeared.
          Hey Kyza, "my cat"

  • 6-9-69 + pic of Dirk Diggler = Awww yeahhhhhh.

  • +3

Just saw Barrack Obama. Seems legit.

  • +1

This marketing campaign has generated a 1-minute news item on 7 News critical of Pacific Brands' hypocrisy (sacking workers while celebrating Bonds’ birthday), and a 5-minute fluff piece on TodayTonight "praising this iconic brand".

So much free publicity for such a bad company.

  • how do i enter can someone please help me thanks
