I personally prefer the styling of the Samurai myself, I've had a blue samurai for a few years now and very happy with it. Considering the Samurai can be had for $300 when on special it's pretty hard to pass up lol.

Is this the one you are referring toNah, that's green. Mine's the blue version.
I believe it's SRPB49.
@stenchlord: Ahh ok thanks. I really like the colour of the one I linked
@maverickjohn: Have a look at the SZSC004; it's a Sumo with a jade green sunburst dial
@Gunnar: Wow that's gorgeous must be gen 2 sumo. Uses 6r15. There's a limited edition presage with that colour which I really love.
https://www.lindajewellers.com/product/seiko-presage-limited…@maverickjohn: Yep, correct that is a second gen sumo.
If burst green dials are your thing, another one to check out is the SARX071:

@maverickjohn: Yeah this is the green Samurai I was looking at.
Yeah not really a sumo fan, no doubt good but the lug to lug must be massive and would only suit big wrists? Just never liked that oversized housing shape. There are a few other Seikos i wouldn't mind
Great watch.
Well worth the price. 6r35 movement and sapphire screen all count towards a great watch.
Power reserve is 70 hoursDamn good price.
Bought this watch a bit after it came out, wanted something that my 23cm wrist didn't make look small. Ended up buying a strapcode bracelet for it since the seiko bracelet was tight. Very nice looking watch, though the green doesn't pop out unless you're under light. A lot of people have thought it was black at first sight.
That 6R35 is a greta movement and this is a great value watch I just wish the sumo shape worked on my wrist. Hopefully this movement with become the mainstream for the King Samurai range
'greta' Thunberg edition?
Going on the bevel bead alignment in the marketing pic, you could well be right that Seiko's current quality control (other than JDM) shouts "How Dare they!" 😜
Very good price; for anyone interested this is a pretty heavy watch. I you like wearing leather and rubber straps the Sumo is a very hard watch to buy straps for because its case is thick and the strap bars are located in the lugs are different to most watches (so you end up with massive gaps between the strap bar and the watch case). The watch design needs a chunky strap for the watch to look balanced
I don't like the OEM bracelet but crafter blue does some very nice rubber straps for the Sumo. It's odd because most Seiko's work really well on aftermarket straps
I was looking at the green samurai last night…
