    Dates: Thursday 20th August 9am AEST - Sunday 22nd August 11:59pm AEST

Did you mean Friday 20th or Thursday 19th?

    • +1

Oh good spot! I did mean Friday.
Thanks for that, I've updated it now.

  • +12

I spent 4+ weeks with their incompetent Support to receive my $5 referral credit. Let alone how they badly managed the data breach and huge amount of spam and phishing attempts I started receiving since then.

    • Hey bashar20, I'm really sorry you've had a negative experience with our support.
If you need any assistance, I'm always happy to help if you DM me.
      Cheers!

      • I’d rather use cashrewards. Had 1-2 issues since it’s inception and their support is willing to go the extra mile to provide support.

While your support team is incompetent and frustrating to deal with. Sending multiple emails and going back and forth is not acceptable.

Furthermore, ShopBack was not transparent and didn’t acknowledge my request to clarify the extent of data breach. What data was exactly breached. I believe that as a user I have the right to know!!!!

    • +4

Can't really comment too much on your referral issue. In my experience, support have been generally reasonable, though I've been declined in the past when I should have been eligible. I always look at cashback as a bonus and don't make purchasing decisions based on them with the exception of gift cards since that's done in house. Never extremely disappointed that way.

You might be surprised how many companies have data breaches. The spam and phising scams are on the rise regardless and with all the "free" on Ozbargain, it might be hard to pinpoint it just to Shopback.

      • Exactly what I do. I only buy if it is on special like jb hi fi etc. Sometime I even forget to turn cashback on, now with extension, I remember to turn cashback on each time and get the extra cashback.

    • +4

i stop using them and move back to the other source since the data breach the other day.
Since then i receive numerous spam calls, although i am not sure if the spam calls was related to the data breach, but until now, from time to time i keep receiving unwanted calls. very unhappy.

even if i DM them, i dont think they can do anything with it

      • +1

I heard about the big data breach some time ago before I signed up but are you saying there was another one this week?

      • Would also like to know about the one from the other week.

    • Shopback used to have good customer service but it seemed to go down the drain after the breach and especially the way they managed it did it for me.

CR have never let me down.

    • Well I guess everybody’s experience is different. I had really good support from them. I feel that ShopBack is a great competitor to Cashrewards.

  • You said:
"If you've already placed an order this morning, you can opt-in and still earn the bonus for that previous purchase."

    But also T&C's:
"Only purchases made after you 'Start' this challenge will qualify for the Bonus Cashback."

    Can you clarify?

    • +2

My apologies, I've worded it better in the T&C's.
      Thanks for pointing that out!

  • +2

Shonky company that tracks half the time, rejects the other half. Slow and terrible email support.

    • +1

Then don't buy from them. I haven't had issues with them so far.

      • +2

He didn't say he is still buying from them. Hence I presume the neg vote…

        • +7

Correct, after too many bad experiences I switched to Cashrewards who have been perfect.

Simply sharing my experience which is aligned to many other people

          • @cook99: I haven't had that many issues with them. I would say the same amount of issues with CR as SB. I have had more cashback rejections with CR than SB (I just checked).

            • +1

@Lucille Bluth: I like your username, but disagree on up vs negative as a comparison.

Upvote takes 1 second and you don't even need to click into post.

Negative vote requires clicking, posting a reason and voting.

Heck a barrel of monkeys post got hundreds of upvote, was hardly the saving of the century though

  • not showing in my account :(
(but does show in wife's account)

    • +3

      Hey battler,
If you're already a part of the OZBPERKS Partnership, perhaps check if your app is up to date?
Sometimes an older version of the app can cause challenges to be hidden.

      • Thanks GYB, was missing the Ozb perks bit

        • +2

          Too easy, enjoy!

      • +1

Hi, I cant see it either - and i've reinstalled the app + I'm definitely part of the OZBperks. Any other suggestion please?

        • +2

          Hey wat223,
The Opt-In Cap was reached shortly before you commented.
Sorry you missed out this time, but there's always next time!

Spend more time in delivering your promises to existing customers (ie. these bonus cashbacks gets rejected most of the time. I have stopped using ShopBack) and less time creating these promos.
PS. No you have NOT got our backs!

    • +7

      Hey mate,
Just pointing out that I'm not the only person working in this business.
There are a lot of moving parts, and we're all working together to improve & continue providing value to our customers.
PS. I've never received a DM from you, so I'm not quite sure what you mean.

      Cheers!

    • +6

No you have NOT got our backs!

GYB has always been courteous and helpful each time I PM'd him/her.

You are fine to post your experiences, but no need to make it personal.

  • Woohoo, something I wanted went on sale, extra score!

    • +2

      Nice! Enjoy!

  • 7 days check in challenge fnished on 6th day claiming all rewards claimed all of a sudden!

    • +1

what's the problem? there was no extra bonus for completing 7 days… just a few 5c along the way.

    • +8

Not sure why that warrants a neg for this bonus.
The Check-in Challenge showed a capped number of rewards from the very start.
You have to click into the challenge to view the rules, caps, T&Cs, etc.

If you need any support, feel free to DM me.

  • +4

Must be a slow day with the neggers once again making an appearance. There can be 10 ShopBack posts without a single neg and all of a sudden a few pop up on a single deal.

  • Been using for years, never missed a beat, tracks even if i forget to turnoff adblocker.

  • +1

Thanks GYB - nice bonus! Added to the BCMT

    • +2

      Tyvm :)

  • How long do the electronic ebay gift cards take to reach my email inbox once ordered?

    • +1

      Hey @abadacus,
Are you referring to the Gift Cards purchased through ShopBack Gift Cards page or via eBay Directly?

      • Through the shopback gift cards page :)

        • +2

Ah, those should be in your account near instantly.
Once you've purchased the Gift Card of your choice, you'll be able to find it under "Purchases" on the bottom navigation bar.
If you have any issues/questions, feel free to send me a DM :)

  • Doordash included in this for the $5? Will you get $5 + $1?

    • +1

DoorDash is included in the bonus.
New Customers will be getting $15 (I'll update this once it's live on our site)
      Existing Customers will get $1.
Both are eligible for this bonus :)

      • Sweet! Loving Doordash during lockdown.

        • +1

          I can relate hahah

    • Why not create a new account for extra $15?

  • Hi Rep, can you help clarify how much cashback is there with Amaysim's $15/100GB lockdown offer? This deal gets a auto promo code when buying. Do these auto promo codes mean they are not applicable to shopback?

CashRewards's Amaysim listing has a clause to clarify this "Cashback is ineligible when using codes not listed on Cashrewards. Codes that auto-apply on amaysim's website at checkout are eligible for cashback.". But I can't find a similar one on Shopback. Can you help clarify?

    • +1

      Hey CV,
That amaysim deal is eligible for $10.50 cashback.
So if you stack it with this bonus, you'll profit $0.50 :)

      Cheers!

      • Thank you for the clarification! and super-fast response too.

Perhaps it might be worthwhile adding the clarification to Shopback's Amaysim listing to save future users's time.

        +++1 for your help!

Thanks GYB finally a decent promo for loyal customers wish you guys had repco though

Waiting for Groupon to get extra double dipping cashback on my car next service

    $55 car service
    15% of Groupon promo code
    20% cashback via SHOPBACK
    $5 cashback cream on top

~ $33 after all the cashbacks

    • UPDATE SHOPBACK IS DOING THEIR CRAP AGAIN,

      FALSE ADVERTISMENT

      "Up to 70% off + Up to 20% Cashback (5pm-9pm AEST) "

WITH NO "Up to 70% off", cant get that anywhere.

SO A SH*T advertisement, Sorry SHOPBACK BUT YOU HAVE DISAPPOINTED ME AGAIN.

Can often get way better deal than this, with the usual 15% groupon promo code, with 15% cashback,

Right now NO GROUPON PROMO CODE FOR TIME BEING

      • Up to 70% off is standard terms for every day. You can always apply an expired code for 5% or 10% off.

        • Then it will not be eligible for cashback, because it is not mentioned On shopback

          • @USER DC: For Groupon, all promo codes were fine for me in the past. It is not strict.

            • @Neoika: Yeah but it is still not worth it, I think better to wait for a bigger Groupon cashback deal.

usual norm is 15% promo code +15% cashback,

and this is nowhere even close, so gonna buy something cheapo from BIGW

  • Cheers GYB.

  • +8

Never trust these people. Their tracking is awful. Took them over 6 months to review a missing cashback just to come back and say it was not eligible. They claimed I did something wrong, even though I double and triple checked before making the purchase.

    • +1

I had screenshots for every step of the purchase including the Cashback activation. But support said I did something wrong and was not eligible for the cashback

    • Hey mate, could you send me a DM with your account info so I can take a look into this?
      Cheers.

      • +2

Sorry mate, I deleted my account. I already sent a couple of tickets to your support team to which they replied saying it's a tracking issue.

  • Is this for everyone even ones where we claimed previously? Doesn't seem to show up on mine since I claimed it previously months ago :(

  • +7

The occasion seems appropriate but recently I have purchased McAfee subscriptions with 45% Shopback cashback. Given the well documented incidences recorded in this forum particularly on large cashbacks, I have had reservations in using Shopback but nevertheless I went ahead with it as my personal experience with Shopback were mostly okay (I got far more accepted cashbacks then not but they were all small amounts).

The purchase tracked correctly but I never received any notification. After 1 week, I lodged a case ticket and recently being told that the vendor "Deemed" the purchase not eligible for cashback. I had the subscription purchased online, with adblock turned off, a new session only for the purchase, and went to McAfee from Shopback desktop (not via phone apps).

In all fairness, they are lodging an appeal (and thus another 45 days) but I feel compelled to add my experience to this forum as a consideration for others who are contemplating to trust Shopback in particular for large cashback deal. If a straight clean purchase like mine was not "eligible", then they probably should stop advertising the cashback which puts the liability straight back at Shopback.

    • Hey mate, could you send me a DM with your account info so I can take a look into this?
      Cheers.

      • Not a problem. I shall do so.

  • I just missed it by that one last spot!

    • Damn, I'm sorry you missed out :(

  • +1

I see nothing in the perks

    • I also see nothing in the perks section

    • Same. Enrolled in perks and app updated.

    • The Opt-In Cap was reached shortly before you commented :(

  • How can we take the advantage of afterpay sale when a code being used will result ineligible cashback?

  • "No perks at this moment"
    Is this over rep?

    • +1

Can confirm, Opt-In Cap has been reached.

  • already gone in 52 mins!

  • +1

Hi, I can't see it in my "perks". I've a long time member, have latest app version and previously had no issues with other SB special challenges.

    • Hey Mr Miyagi,
The opt-in cap was reached shortly before you commented.
There will always be next time though :)

  • don't see it in my app, even after updating it.

    • +1

Hey LG, just added an update below.
      Cheers,

      • while i understand that you passed entry cap, should those who missed out still be able to see it in the app (but not able to opt-in)?

        • Not if they haven't opted in.
We don't want to cause any confusion if there's a challenge sitting there that can't be taken advantage of.

          • @gotyourback: but you also get confusion of why can't i see that challenge, its unclear why people missed out, like they were not targeted

  • +1

Hey everyone, it looks like the bonus has hit its 1,500 entry cap. That was fast.
I apologise to anyone who's missed out on the bonus, there will always be next time.

Reach out to me via DM if you have any questions.
    Cheers!

    • Getting negged for them being too slow haha!

  • "Deal/Bonus Info: … Opt-In Cap: 1,500"
Is this first 1500 to made an eligible purchase via app, not first 1500 to enroll this competition, is that correct?

    • +1

The first 1,500 people to Opt-In will be eligible for the bonus.
Not based on the first 1,500 to complete a purchase in this instance.

      • thank you for confirming
        cheers

    • No, its the first 1500 to enrol in the competition

  • nothing in the perk tab

  • I didn't see in the app as well. Updated app this morning. Ozbargain is listed under my partenerships. Still… didn't see the challenge listed at all.

  • Finally after long time, thanks ShopBack.

  • Wow that was fast.

  • OP, may I please ask what you guys are doing about the constant data breaches on your website? I always get notifications on my browser about data breaches, password leaks etc for my Shopback account. When inquired about it, I get standard scripted replies.

As others have experienced, I am also getting a lot of spam calls, messages, emails which i wasn't getting before I signed up with shopback. I did get a very few spam emails though before but definitely not calls and texts.

This is a very serious issue if you want your customers to keep using shopback.
