Great reviews:

I couldn't find historical prices of the 75 U7G here in OzB but judging from the price of the 65 I think this is a great bargain for a 75" QLED that can be compared to much higher priced competitors of it (U8G and QN90A). Other 75" QLED that comes near to this price is the Kogan 75" QLED and when it comes to 65" QLED you can find the 65" U7G for $1525 at TGG without delivery (using the 10% off coupon).

Happy bargain hunting!

Note: As highlighted on the Rtings website, the reviews written on the link above will not apply to the Australian model.

  • How is it compare with the old Q8?

    • It is considered to be the predecessor (a little upgrade but no reason to buy if already have) to the H9G which some believe to be the Aus Q8 counterpart.

      Not too sure though. :)

      • Rtings says it's the predecessor to the H8G but also says this for the results

Note: There's some confusion around Hisense's naming scheme. The results listed here are only valid for the North American models. There are international variants, but they're completely different TVs.

I think the U8G is more on par with the Q8 but our models (U7G and U8G) don't seem to get full HDMI2.1 from my understanding?

      • really? I bought a Q8 at EOFY for $2300. So sad…

Reviews have stated that U7G and U8G are an IPS panel so blacks are nowhere near as good as last year plus they don't have VRR or even 2.1 HDMI. Huge letdown as the US model is the superior version by a long way. Pretty poor since Hisense stated it would have a VA panel for Australia previously

    • Hey Mostalova, curious as to which review stated that this U7G has an IPS - could you please link me?

      • This TV does not have HDMI 2.1 like the US model does
This TV does not have 1500 nits of peak brightness like the US model Does
This TV does not have Android TV like the US model does (no Disney +)
This TV can not do VRR @ 120 FPS like the US model can.
This is a massive downgrade. Period.

  • No Android
    And likely not that bright.
Does have HDMI 2.1 but only at 4k60. No 120hz

This TCL model is 450 nits and seems a step up from the U7G

Make sure you research Australia's models!!!

I was interested in this and u8g but was turned off by the change in local models from US:

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gizmodo.com.au/2021/07/hise…

    Tldr:

According to the source, the U.S. version contains an Android operating system, a VA panel and 1,500 nits of peak brightness. This is backed up by the spec sheet.

Comparatively, the Australian version has a VIDAA operating system, an IPS panel (with arguably inferior contrast) and no mention of the nits

Why does Hisense charge Aussies so much for lower spec'd models?

      • +3

        Aussie tax.

      • lol cause aussies are chumps

  • +3

No slight on the uninformed op, but this tv is trash compared to the US model. TCL are the bang for buck champs in 21.

    • Is series 6 Available in australia? Or what model is the equivalent?

  • We are a smaller market than the US
