Ziggy by Ziegler & Brown BBQ Range 10-17% off + Delivery ($0 to Sydney) @ Barbeques Galore

50

Was keeping an eye on Ziegler & Brown BBQ as Weber Q Series goes rarely on sale. Father's day special brings the price down a bit, discount varies by model.

The main difference compared with Weber Q Series is the ability cooking with the hood open. A complete comparison is here:

The main difference compared with Weber Q Series is the ability cooking with the hood open.

What's good about that though ?

More importantly where's the bold text?

    • +2

Because there's heaps of stuff you want to cook with the hood up?

heaps of stuff you want to cook

        Do I ?

    • Might not be a biggie for everyone but if you have different things on and some need to be turned more often than others. When you open a hood on Weber, the temperature goes down quickly. So it is easier just to keep it open.

      • the temperature goes down quickly

        why is that?

        what is different with these?

        • +1

Max temperature. Webers typically use less gas and don't go as high temperature as normal BBQ. Webers are focused more on retaining heat more like an oven.

As I understand it the burners are stronger on the Ziggy. Haven't compared the MJ ratings to confirm if that is the case…
EDIT: onlinepred beat me to it and said it better

Who would have guessed the Barbeques galore comparison of Weber (which they can only sell at a limited number of their stores) and Ziggy (which they do sell at every store and is exclusive to BBQ Galore) would conclude that Ziggy was the better choice. Very reliable comparison I’m sure.

    • +1

Yes, that's a fair point. Unfortunately don't have any better comparison to share. Choice gave Weber Baby Q1200 rating of 84% having better cooking performance, evenness, cleaning, external temperatures and gas consumption (I would take this with a pinch of salt, it is measured just by having all burners on high). Ziggy Twin scored 73%, it has larger cooking surface (0.1 vs 0.18 m2), the option to cook with the hood open and two burners.
I would post more details but don't want to violate IP so hopefully this summary helps.

Ziegler and Brown is a BBQs Galore house brand, owned by BBQs Galore.

Can't imagine why they would push those over a Weber.

  • By any chance has anyone negotiated further discount instore pickup? Discount on the triple is only ~7%.

  • +1

my Ziggy single burner doesn't get hot enough. I wouldn't recommend.

    • +1

My twin burner Ziggy gets way hot enough, and for a couple is the perfect middle ground between too small or too big.

  • Thanks for sharing. But won't be interested in if the discount less than 30%.

  • would love to hear how it performs OP once you try it. I'm eyeing this or a weber
